New project for me,
After the unfortunate miss haps of the aubergine 5 door and the craving for a 3 door i really wanted one,

Had a look at this one with Dave5300 after i got pm'd from a guy from an irish ford website, nice chap! a friend of his wanted to get rid of the car but wanted a good home! Picked it up the next day!

Its a 91 1.1 LX, 115000 miles on the clock, Its been garaged for half its life or not on the road either/or!

Small bit of rust and damage here and there but for the price i can't complain!! excellent condition compared to some ive seen!












Few of the lads were helping me strip it out, one of them decided to pull the spark plugs out and one of the tops fell into the engine but didnt realise, decided to start it later on that night and plenty of weird noises happened that night be it from me and the car

A bit of carpet cleaning


Stripped the head down to inspect the damage




Started cleaning it all up




Luckly We decided to pull out the piston to clean out the cylinder
Found that the Piston was totally bolo><ed!

All that just after some aluminium and ceramic!

Rebuilt and cleaned up the rocker arm and co!


New piston thanks to Dave!


New Gasket Kit






Started to grind away the Rust and primer over for some protection

Ha that actually a pre 94 Rs accesory bumper, Like an imatation Si!

Ha gonna respray the same colour although i am liking the idea of rollered on!!

Found out its Wedgewood Blue

Really hard to find another Car on Diternet with the Colour apart from a few Mustangs and and Astra Coupe

that red Xr looky is stunning!

i was gonna say it aint an Si bumper was the Si looking rs accessory bumper

also great work stripping the HCS, id get all the pistons replaced with the crank imo and the rods, but it aint really worth it on one of them engines, a replacement engine is much easier

throw the hcs out and chuck a cvh in it or a zetec
