Ah, getting to 140 on the 1.8 isn't too hard, all the right breathing mods on top of a 130 spec and maybe a superchip and it should be there,

Breathing mods being a free flowing exhaust including four branch and a decent intake and filter :) granted though the 2.0 does get there easier

But on standard came and inlet they both have a cap at around 150- 160bhp

After that you have to get serious

lsd dont work in a straight line? pfft

it aids traction bud therefore works all the time

i.e.when its wet it should help but not eliminate the problems iirc

only thing a lsd would do in a straight line is try to make each wheel turn equally, which yea may help in traction (especially in a fiesta, the passenger wheel tends to spin more in fiestas)

thats about the extent of my lsd knowledge :P

haha corny movie quotes R us suddenly

UPDATE!

for size comparison

the new "ebay tablet"

fitted and wired in (they spelt colour wrong)

back seat view

much better, can now enjoy films and games in the car. the good way

also found out why my recaro seat foam on the front bit would droop and sag, a retainer was unclipped under the front leg adjuster, so i clipped them all back in and hammered them down to prevent it from coming back undone, as it wasnt hard to for it to do so
Image

ive also taken my 4-2-1 off tonight, was int he middle of refitting the standard, downpipe/manifold and cat, but the silly new clamp aint the best and it leaks a bit, blowing is a mot failure i think, so its left in the garage with some exhaust putty to seal that tiny leak, i wont use it now till friday for the mot incase the putty doesnt hold

it was very minor leak but i dont want to risk it, so im using my mothers Civic to get to work tomorrow, yay slow 1.4  :P
and i have friday off as i done 7 hour shift yesterday

anyway, tomorrow i need to refit the hangers tot he brace, fit the brace and then the heatshield in the bay and the standard crossover

check my airbag due to the warnign light for it is flashing, may or may not fail on it i dont know

then finally i dont know if i need to worry about it, but might refit standard lights as the MHWs lack a reflector, but some say they rarely check that as its pretty standard

lol mate, lovin' all this. guessing you will be taking the screen down when you park etc? or is your area the type where you can leave the door unlocked, keys in the ignition etc and nowt will happen? :p#

either way mate, loving the car

Dunno what to think of the screen lol, bit in in your face for me. But ive been through them days

As for rear lights, its not worth the hassle of 2mins to replace them, when I put mine in for an MOT, I change them. You could get round it by putting some reflectors on the rear though.

Exhaust blowing isnt an MOT failure as such, but it will drag outside air through, which can potenially piss up the emissions reading. Putty round the outside will sort it, but, you gotta let it get hot to set :)

mot day today, so got to checking it over and prepping it

had condensation in my headlamp, took i t off and it fell apart, no wonder it had water in it
Image

so dug out my spare, it was in the crash at ford fair and lost its clips

so removed the clips on this knackered light
Image

on new lamp
Image

bulb back in and good to go
Image

fog would appear white and they lack a reflector strip, so needed to come off for the test ( yup the new fiesta decal aint applied straight  )
Image

not seen it like this in a good half a year or so
Image

it had 2 20" wipers on the front, which is slightly too ambitious, so i trimmed one down half an inch or so, now they glide without hitting eachother at rest, topped up the empty washer bottle

checked why my airbag light is on flashing when driving, took the cowling off the column, wiring plug was fine, took the bag off the wheel again fine unplugged and plugged both back in, took the speedo clocks out to remove the bulb, refitted it, tried the ignition and all was fine, bulb went out after a few seconds and didnt come back on after a few attempts

my fog light and reverse bulbs were both knackered so they were replaced and now its as ready as it can be for the test

it will probably fail on the wishbone boots being a bit worst for wear, if so i have ordered new pair from my local factors, i have the invoice so hopefully i can get away with a advisory to fit tomorrow when they arrive at the factors, ill have to pick up some new pinch bolts too

this is all i can imagine it will have issues on, maybe that rust hole in the bottom of the wing, but its not a key area so yet again might now

i shall report back later whether it passes or not

having its skirt lifted and a good rummage under neath
Image
Image

might leave the standard lights on for a lil while it looks nice like that, makes a change :)

i love how mot testers give it a good old ragging to see if its worth a pass

i mentioned the wishbones ball joins are looking a bit past it, he took into consideration the fact my invoice for the new ones was sitting on the passengers seat begging for him to have mercy, passengers side ball joint was goners, and the drivers not too far behind

he gave me benefit of the doubt and let me by knowing theyre going to be fitted with new ones soon ( this or next weekend )

it absolutely flied through the emissions test, knew it would :D

it had 4 advisories:

1: ball joins need replacing on wishbones/lower arms

2: passengers front damper is starting to leak oil

3: rear brake load sensor valve needs to be adjusted

4: rust hole forming on the rear passengers inner sill,

an actual hole but he knows ill sort it given the cars general condition and well looked after state,

the load valve thank god as i didnt know they could be adjusted, so atm its not letting my rear brakes do much as its fooling the valves as if its unloaded

the damper is a supprise but by this time next year i aim to either have coilovers or atleast uprated shocks such as Gmax

and the rust hole, im gutted lol, this car has not been welded yet and not its gonna need some :( ill cut it out and weld a new plate in, and then put underseal over it

but im happy its passed, very happy, paul at pauls MOT garage in sandfields port talbot, very very nice chap i was dreading the mot and he made me feel relaxed and i even enjoyed it, him and his assistant were fun to watch, and was done in 30mins, as a note he liked that i fitted polybushes all round, think he likes them

the slip
Image

and my new lower arms i collected after the test, Jay should like this, QH :Q should be a great quality and both for £56, will fit them in a weekend or two
Image

on another note, remember my mate matt with his green pumak, well after it dieing on him coming home from work, and no one knows whats wrong with it, hes deceided to break it as hes found a tidy Escort Gti hes gonna save and put an mot on it, finally hes going to have zetec power :Q

he your after any, and i mean any puma bits let me know, were gonna start ripping it apart tomorrow, engine conversion bits the entire list of things you need, £400ono

forgot to add, i know the man who runs the local motor factors in town, J.R motor spares, he drives this:
Image
Image

bought it recently, he had a fiesta ST before this, after than a 1.3 mk5 to be more economic, but this come up cheap, its a ST3 in WR300 spec, so good power and the graphics pack from Wolfrace, im in love with it

something arrived for me today

as my back speakers are much louder than the front with a sub in the boot and all, cant really hear the front, plus my drivers has stopped working again, wire keeps coming out of the plug on the back of the cd player

so bought this china ebay special for £6 posted week and half ago, its a small 180w max amplifier i will fit undert he dash, its meant to be switched on and off, so ill wire it to the ignition live so i can just leave the switch on and it will come on with the ignition :), ill wire this for the front speakers :) should even out the balance

Image
Image

it can be used for anything you like, it uses 12v and even has a aux input

was helping matt strip bits off his puma today, after that (and 2 hours to get a wing off...) we went to have a last viewing of the GTi hes considering

its in good general condition, few issues to see it through a new mot, and will need taxing, needs a new tyre, some idiots at a tyre garage fitted a 185/60/15, when all the other tyres are 195/50/15 as normal, he will get that tyre off his puma

new brakes as theyre knackered, hes gonna fit his 280s he bought off me ages ago

and needs some of the battery cables rewired as theyve burnt theyre casings off

a new boot as its full of rust holes around the spoiler

rear bumper needs replacing, its cracked and the spat is hanging off

also its faded here and there, mainly the drivers rear quarter, we are going to buy a machine polisher between us as the Si needs a good polishing to rid it of scratches

we used my battery to start the car as its one was dead and it wouldnt bump, after two little drives around the couldersack, the car stalled, and suddenly loads of smoke poured from under the bonnet, i shit my self jumped out of the car and yelled oen the fing bonnet, he struggled as the cables come away from the leaver, finally pulled it, blew the fire out, the earth cabled had shorted on something with live feed and caught fire :aaah:

bonnet has soot on it and a cable is bare now, wipped the battery off and left it, not detered he will buy it sometime in th week,a dn it will go in my garage at home to get fixed for the mot

pics

Image
Image

no test or tax, £400 with a spare blue bumper, should be around £700 car once tested and taxed and all sorted, maybe a bit more to get the bumper and boot sprayed, still below the average cost of a good condition Gti, usually around £800-£1000
and this is a rarer 3 door in radiant red

should be a good project for us :)

Boss audio 16.5cm 200w shallow fit speakers, fitted them to the doors and have evened out the balance, sound great too, very happy considering theyre only £19 on ebay posted :aaah:

Say something nice? Hmmmmmmmmmmmm

It looks nice! It does to be fair, not just saying that.

You need to space out the rear bumper so it meets the arches, chop chop.

And he needs to learn to focus his camera better in some of the pics... Thats my critisism towards the photographer lol.
