Thanks dudes :)

Just a small update, no pictures yet.

Tenzo R rear upper strut brace arrived and fitted - Check!
Rear Trailing arm bush bought from Honda - Check!
2x Michelin Sport Pilot Exalto PE2's delivered today - Check!
Number 2 of 5 uprated engine torque mounts bought - Check!

It does have a leak on the cam belt side stil, but it's very minor. the leak from the Vtec Solenoid area has stopped which is good news. Next step is to get some new OEM Honda rear pads and aftermarket blank discs in a few days, and get them fitted with the new tyres and rear trailing arm bush and get my tracking rear checked as my N/S toe in is too much!

Then will get the leak sorted out, and the valve clearances and timing checked along with a fresh oil change with some more Fuchs Titan. Also didn't realise I have a magnetic oil sump nut, so that's a nice little surprise.

but overall, just a little black smoke as it's running a tad rich, and it's not used a drop of oil at all yet, even with the minor oil leaks I have, so pretty happy overall :)

Cheers guys! Yeah it's turned out OK in the end, and the car doesn't really feel any slower at all. I just try not to think about the £1.5k it has cost me so far since January, and the £1k drop in value of the car due to the bottom end I've put on. Expensive month or so...

Thought I'd update.

Leaky driveshaft seals - check!
Unrepairable nail in one of my tyres - check!

Ordered two new driveshaft oil seals from Honda and some new OEM rear pads to pick up after the holiday, along with another 3 litres of MTF gearbox oil when it's changed. Had the Pilot Exalto's fitted to the rear for now.

Also ordered some more Fuchs Titan 10w/40 oil today for the change that's due.

So on the current to do list..

Driveshaft seals changing + new MTF gearbox oil.
2 more Michelin Exalto's required.
Oil change due.
Tappet adjustment and valve clearances need checking.
Cam seal change to stop leak.
Sump pan gasket change to stop leak.
New brake discs and pads on the rear.
Trailing arm bush change.

Then we *should* be looking at quite a healthy mechanical car with any MOT advisories now sorted.

And more importantly, I can spend money on modifications I want to do. For once. (if something else doesn't go wrong)

Don't buy old Honda's people :)

Cheers guys!

Well the leaking gearbox oil has been cured, after taking out one of the driveshafts, and replacing the oil seal, we didn't do the other side as that was dry as a bone, so went to take off the oil level plug and it was barely hand tight. Oh look, that'll teach me not to check the basics. N00b. Thank you to Des though for his services rendered :D

Now the gearbox is nice and smooth..

So on the current 'to do/waiting' list..
OEM Honda Pads and OEM Honda Discs obtained for the rear and ready to fit.
Fuchs Titan 10w/40 oil to change next week.
2x more Michelin Pilot Exalto PE2's to fit.
Tappet adjustment and valve clearances need checking.
Cam seal and Cam cover gaskets required to stop some minor oil leaks.
Brand new Slimline Fan and half size rad (for the turbo clearance - due here this week)
Waiting for the AutoMeter Pressure/Oil Temp/Boost gauges from Scott shortly.
Rear trailing arm bush change, then a Full laser wheel alignment is due.

Once that's all the important stuff done, next up is the custom 2.5" exhaust set up, OBD1 Vtec Ecu and harness adaptor for the after market management, then it's a purely a turbo update thread from then on in.

Will update with pictures soon. Getting the engine bay professionally steam cleaned in a week or so too.

Also been looking at wideband AFR's at the minute, I quite like this AEM one.

Anyway, sorry to bore you! :D We are getting there..

Ry

Piece of piss that was, that's why I love Jap cars, everything comes apart as it's supposed to, and there's a sense of logic to the design of it all. Not like that bag of shit Focus I done the clutch on last week! Grr.

Was a pleasure to have worked on your car Ry, gave me hope that not all cars are ballaches

Yeah it feels good to drive properly again Terry :) The Mk2 only felt slightly slower than mine, like if yours revved more or had a bit more torque it could keep up with the Teg. Impressive little weapon that Fiesta :D

I'd love AEM gauges all round, but there a tad pricey for a whole set. Though not exactly in Defi league, but then I don't have money to burn.. Maybe next year

Glad I gave Des more hope in Jap cars, he needs it. His Pulsar relationship has been tested to the max recently. Still, we all overcome these things. If I'd of sold my car when it all went wrong, I'd be better off financially, but I'd always have the thought of 'what if' I went through with the turbo plans.

Speaking of turbo, I've got a shiny new half size double core cooled radiator and a half size depth radiator fan to fit at some point - need to chop a bit of the chassis though, so not exactly straight forward but not difficult either, just need the time and space. Waiting for the missus parents to go on holiday then..
