hey every one..

need some help and advice!!

i have a 206 sport, and the other day it wouldnt start.. the electrics came one but it wudnt tick over.. after a few mins it started fine

it has been running fine ever since.. but my friend has just rang me and it wont start.. again the elecrtics are coming on but it wont tick over.. nothing happening!!

i was thinkin starter motor??

help please

although it may be the starter motor or maybe a battery on the way out?

I was gunna say that! haha

Could be the starter, but could also be the battery.
My car wouldn't start when my old battery was low, and once i jumped it, it was fine. I just had to be careful to use NO electric without the engine on lol.

As said possibly starter motor then? Shove it in gear and rock that bastad

Otherwise battery either crapped, or the starter motor/battery connections are rotted or loose?

Judging by it working the other day i would of said a wire or starter was on its way out, might also be worth checking if an earthing cable is loose or breaking??

When my mk4 fiesta wouldnt start at all an earth lead was found to have given up the ghost and caused a short

had a look at with my a friend n he thinks the connections might need cleanin.. if not then new starter motor :/

Definately sounds like starter motor if it wont do anything when you turn the key, keeps doing it on my van, its basically the motor sticking. As said stick it in gear with handbrake off and push it forwards and backwards and that should free it. Sometimes it dont do it straight away but it will work. If it does take ages then bump start it if your on a slope.

oh and it failed the MOT today.. so bit pissed about that
excessive play in the ball joint.. so now the overalls are back out again so i can fix it

When Adrian was on the phone to you and you said about it being £70 for a new lower arm my jaw dropped! Bloody french cars lol. He said you was going to get the spanners out and do it yourself, good on ya! No one should get ripped off by garages, especially for the amount of labour they wanted to charge you too! lol

Awesome stuff! Women who know their way around cars are some of the best sort out their... well I would think that being a mechanic but some of my best friends are girls who I went to college with on my courses.

No.. no advisorys.. just straight fail on the suspension arm..

they sed its wud b £75 for the suspension arm and the rest for an hours labour :/

if the starter is still farting about give it a twat with a hammer .. on my first car it would do the same as yours so i hit it with a hammer one morning and it never went wrong again lol £75 for a lower arm is mental !! but at least its being sorted

ill just chuck the french thing in a lake.. no probs then :/ lol

yeah i was like ermmm... no thanks ill do it myself.. they wanted £150 altogether.. its still gunna cost me £70 but atleast i aint gotta pay myself labour

pleeeease let me help chuck it too LOL ! no no thats mean my best mates got a french car i cant be horrible haha ... well you could always see it as you've done a good job and your labour cost is treating yourself to something nice lol thats what i would do .. god im sad lol
