yea mate, they are chain driven engines so the drive belt is the only "belt"

To be honest, they dont need changing. The only thing that does is the tensioner. But, if im honest, I have never ever known anyone to do it, but you will know when it needs doing/adjusting because it will slap about and its a really obvious noise.

One of the many great things about the little HCS is that its chain driven

Remember to keep an eye on the oil level weekly too

ic annot fault the hsc engine, apart from the lack of power that is

none of my 3 ive owned ever burnt oil either, but my mk4 did start to burn oil not long befor ei removed the engine, think the oil stem seals were going

They are very solid engines indeed

i could do with adjusting the linkage tho as i dont think it goes all the way into gear
it seems as though it goes in properly as i put the revs bk on
only issue i have with it and its too wet and windy to be messing about under the car il sort it when the weather perks up abit
other than that tiny annoyance the car is doing me well on fuel not so much on lookin cool though
iv not got this for its speed so that part is fine but it really needs droppin a lil
gonna slap my 35mm gmax springs on sometime in the future
should compliment the rs arches iv sourced
now i jus need to make my mind up
rs or xr bumpers lol
still swaying towards rs look
id also like some early xr2i alloys for it but dunno how much they go for

rs and xr bumpers are the same mate (apart from the holes in the front bumper for the upper grille piece)

Oh, and I have an early xr alloy with a very good tyre for sale if you want it. Only one and it could do with abit of a refurb

i would rather wait till iv done the bumpers and arches till i mess with rims but i will bare you in mind
your not far either unlike the monsterous trip iv got for my arches and an si/rs bumper not sure yet
really need to make my mind up
it'l prob be rs as i dont want the si feeling sorry for itself because its not an si with the arches

good plans mate, although sometimes i prefere the poverty look

XR2i 8v wheels are cheap as chips mate, bought mine a good few months back for £40 at a breakers, then swapped them for the S1 alloys i not long sold

you can get them for average £50 with good tyres, i recently seen 5 with good tyres for £50

if i had a poverty run around id probs go for the 2i look

looks well that mate, would look good with black xr2i kit an lowerd a bit i rekon
