And the way to spray is to do it in short, straight blasts.

so go like side to side and just blast one way, then back the other way. don't just keep your finger on the trigger

Looks good fella, shame about the paint! I'd sand it down and go over it. As the boys said, nice thin coats :)

Do you reckon I should put another layer of primer and just start again? Or sand it back with a pretty heavy grit?

So is it best to have it leaning up against a wall length ways? As I say this is all new to me, I was thinking about this as it is sticking to the paper on the floor a little which was a real pain in the arse.

I would sand it down with some light sand paper, just to get the runs off, that will also give it a surface for the primer to stick too aswell, then primer it, then go over it.

As for spraying it, can you hang it up anywhere? Like on string from something? That would be best, if not, up against the wall is a good bet. Remember to give it a good shake too, dont want it coming out all thick and ruining your work again lol

heat it up with a hairdryer and shake it lots as well. that'll help, but as I say, if you do it in short burst motions in straight lines, I can picture how in my head but its hard to explain! then it'll work better.

It's been moved now lol. As it is though it seems a pretty good place, there needs to be leaves for sap and it's leafless atm (edit - just looked at the picture and you can see leaves  that's ivy and is just at the back, theres nothing above). The area is in the corner of my drive so hardly any wind and is pretty closed off so nobody can see it.

Just working with what I have :)

Been taking it really slowly today on the painting as I don't want a repeat of before, the paint is on 3 super thin coats now, it hasnt run but you can still see primer. hopefully 2 more super thin coats tomorrow will work

spraying is going well, running is a bitch on these skirts and arches, was there a month or so ago myself lol, looks to be the same shade petrol blue as mine

mind the drivers wing looks a bit flat, try giving it a good buff with t-cut or G3 cuttign compound ;)

Good eye man, we noticed it at Ford fair last year, the drivers wing is a resprayed bit, looks alright from a distance but as you can see it's a little strange close up. Most people dont notice the wing as the bonnet is a completely different colour to the rest if the car. Not too bothered with that tho as I want an rs bonnet so no point respraying it and then having to do it again a few months down the line.

Me and tango are gonna try our best with the kit and hopefully get it streak free
