Ok,Can someone fill me in on the details?

I fancy some for the car come summer time with the amount of track time i'm planning at shows.
I've seen there pretty cheap second hand and found some £60 each new. So thats all good.

Whats better? 3 or 4 point? I don't want too much hassle putting them on or off.

and are they easy to fit and to fit the mounting points etc? I assume they will work with my recaros? I'm sure i've seen it done before

I'd personally go with 4 points. Ive always used them on kit cars i used to build and they generally tend to be more comfy, easier to use and better than 3's.

Mounting is easy, whip out the rear seat and then mount to original mounting points of seat/seatbelt.

And yes they will work with recaros :)

i personally like 4 point ones which as Danny said bolt into the standard belt front lower and two rear seat belt positions.
When you say fitting with recaros do you mean standard RS type not a bucket seat with harness slots? If so i would considder 4 point harness fitted with a cross over at the back section to stop them from dropping down over you shoulders

Would that be alright like that?

I was searching threads on ZSOC and a lot of them had different views. one being that I think someone had them crossed and he had an accident and it did more damage than good?
I see what you mean by it falling off your shoulder though.

That he means is as your not having 'bucket' seats as such, they dont have slots to go through to they can slide off your shoulders when driving along. Last thing you when when your going around a track at 70mph! So by crossing them over it prevents it bascially.

I have had mixed views on crossing over, I have too heard they can do more damage than good, but now I think about it, im not sure. The only reason it can is because if you go into a wall, its basically going to be a scissor affect and that can cause damage, but thinking about poles for the headrest which go into the seat, it shouldnt happen as the poles will stop it scissoring at your neck/head.

I'd try ask advice on someone whos crashed a car with standard seats and crossed over belts, then you will get the correct answer lol.

Think ill do a but more searching
Need to get the power first, harnesses are one of the last things I need just to have, as I'm stripping the rear just before show season.
Its good that there not as expensive as I thought though! Its just what's safe and what's not seems to be the main drawback.

4 point - again 2 points either side of seat but shoulder straps are seperate and bolt individually

5 point - same as 4 point but with a crotch strap (ouch)
