Just saw this on eBay (it's where I spend a lot of my time recently) and I'm quite surprised to see XR2's still getting ok money - if I were looking for a run around, what kind of price would I be looking at paying in this day and age for a mk2 xr2?

Even on Pistonheads it seems semi decent ones are going for around 1.5k - http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/2258945.htm

I was expecting to see shizzle around the 500 to 900 price mark... :lol:

I swear although some Fiesta prices have dropped, others seem to have risen from like 4/5 years ago!

the mk1's are starting to go up quite rapidly now as they have reached classic status, alot of boggo ones are going for 1-1.5k

Then even the mk2 XR2's as you say are going up quite abit now too, and mk1 XR2's and supersports are shooting through the roof :o

If i'm honest though i don't think mk4/5 will increase, maybe zetec-s.. but that was the period when ford lost their touch on sport models so i'm not sure

mk4's are gay! :lol: Well, I think there the worst of the lot tbh.

ZS prices now are holding up. 10 years on and still some models going for £3000? That'll drop and it'll take a while but they might go up.

Same with all older cars though, it'll be supply and demand, Don't suppose you see many Xr2's anymore that are in good nick, good for rebuilds or that childhood dream car :lol:

Lol! Nah, mk4's are good when lowered... and i think only in MY opinion, suit the Zetec-S bumpers more than the mk5 ;)

But even a smartly modified mk4 in spotless condition and low mileage, can't fetch any more than £1500

Lol Thing is I have looked at loads and none impress, I've seen one lowered 60mm and I asked when he was gonna lower it... (and that wasn't me joking! :lol: )

The headlights ruin it for me, and the bumpers, those headlights really don't suit a mk5 bumper, its just all wrong.

There are quite a few nice modded mk4's 8-)

They are really good cars, just the worst looking out of the collection I feel with that front end :doh:

mk2 xr2's are getting rare now,as you say half decent ones are fetching pretty decent money.

mk2 fez's in general seem to be fetching decent money, if you can live with no mod cons and a basic interior i promise you'll have a laugh driving about in an xr2

even my shed of a mk2 gets some looks and soome comments on how rare it is to seem them on the road now a days :D

4 years ago you could pick up a complete xr2 that was rotten for £50, now you need £600 for just a rotten one

i got mine for that but the body kit was hinding the rot on the rear arches but not t bad mind
