They should be pretty cheap for you as well, might be worth taking a look and even though you'd lose 4 months you'd be able to have mods. Also they only charge you for 9 months if your paying by DD

There so thick, when I started it I stuck "exhausts system changes" on and thats it.. no change, just classed as a change and i've got a full system

Let me know how it goes. I never told them about my si. That was lowered slots exhaust, as it was £16 as it was. I was waiting the three months til renewal but I spent those months a bit nervous and I regret it now! Not a lot I could of done though. My zs was running a k&n but I was wth direct line and its not the end of the world really.hence why I waited until renewal for everything else in November

Madness.

I started on my Rs2000's today. Thought it would be a piece of cake, I knew it was going to take a while but!! I spent about an hour and i've done 3 spokes back to bare metal and the rest about a 1/4 more of the alloy back to "primer" ish stuff.

I then went in the shed and looked at the 180 grit stuff I had and that was much coarser. Which is strange as I was using 80 grit?? :S I thought the lower the number the coarser, I am using aluminium oxide, which they both are that...

Oh well, I think I will order some more sand paper as i've used 3 sheets on that already. any advice is greatly appreciated!

Its going to take a lot more time and effort to do these, I would hate to be doing multispokes! Hopefully the time and effort is worth it.

Quite undecided on what to do now! Colour wise, I was thinking White with Glow in the dark rim and centre caps, i've gone off that idea now.
So now its either spokes and centre caps, or just centre caps? and the rest white.

theres a guide in the guides section im sure of it...
Nitromors the paint off...do as it says..put it on..leave it for a while...and THEN clean it off... dont use it on plastics..it WILL fuck them up! key that in with an 800 or so grit to begin with. 1200 then a 1500 should be nice and smooth
Wet and Dry...Halfrauds do mixed packs...or get a selection.try not to go more than 2 or 3 grades at a time..else itll be a pig to get the coarser marks out!
make sure you degrease....panel wipe...brake cleaner at a push! dont use petrol there are chemicals in that which can and usually do cause the paint to react..and its fundamentally oil based..even the oil in your skin can cause a reaction in the paint as will silicone based products

and if the centre caps are plastic..then use plastic primer for those

paint the caps and the wheels the same colour. looks much better imho.

Yeah i've used that guide.
Said to start by cleaning it off with a thinner (which I didn't do as I have none spare, unless white spirit is classed as that?) And sand with 80grit. So I started there,
I bought a selection pack on ebay for £2.50odd, with range from 80 to 600 or something, its just halfords is like £5 a pack!

And yeah I think I need to buy wet and dry paper as what i've bought seems to just be aluminium oxide paper.

Ok then so white or glow in the dark?? Reallllly tempted by the glow in the dark paint, it looks awesome.

white spirit can thin paint..in its liquid form...seriously a tenner on a bottle of nitromors is a tenner well spent! it will make the paint fall off quite literally.

Fair enough, if it does the job i'm hurting my fingers over doing so I only have to smooth it with the sandpaper I already have, then it sounds good to me.
i'm guessing the going up in grades is to get rid of the scratches from the coarseness of the last grade, I only have 1200, would that be good enough..?

a 400 will get the battle hardened paint off...800 will smooth that..1200 will smooth that...then see how it looks when you have laid some primer on it. if it looks scratched in that smooth them with a 1200 and then a 1500 or something like that..the finer grades to get clogged quicker..also get a smoother finish using the paper wet

Cool. makes sense, will go out and get hold of some wet and dry as well, probably just the 1200 and 1500. Then go from there. Didn't realise i'd get through quite so much paper

Yeah ofc But aviva are pretty good, they don't seem to care much about changes, they didn't even phone me for more information on any mods I did it all online will wait until its all confirmed before scaring the insurance too much.
