The auto adjuster is clicking, and is releasing, but slowly so i've got a
new one.
now here's the rub.
the one on the car is black.the one on ebay was black.
the one i've been sent is white.
it specificly (?) says 86 on,(mines 94)on the label,and i was
wondering if (apart from the color)there is any diffo.
cheers lads :?

edit:http://www.southwalesprops.com/clutch.htm
not looking good
update:the one i've got looks like the black one and is a different shape to the white one
on the S.W.Props site :sigh:

buy the full kit from your local ford dealer, the genuine parts aren't that dear. only around £15, make sure you renew everything though, get the 2 bushes for the pedal, both springs, rachet and pawl, its worth doing the brake pedal bushs too while the clutch pedal is out,

and yes the white and black rachet is different, different size, the white one is bigger for a lighter clutch for the escorts mk4s and mk5s

ok thanks.getting the old one off is defeating me at the moment.
taken both clips off the shaft, pushed it as far over to the throttle side as it will go
and unbolted the retainer plate from the brake box on the clutch side but theres
not enough room to pull it off,and the clutch pedal wont come off with it on there.
anyone else had the same problem ?

You have to unbolt the pedal box from the car completly as its a bitch of a job to do, theres 2 13mm bolts under the dash point directly up, and 2 in the engine bay which are the brake bar bolts that bolt into the pedal box, might help removing the drivers seat too to get a bit more room to move

got it off(pry bar)
the retainer plate has a tubular piece going thro the bulkhead to take the
plastic clutch cable spacer and the rubber bung that fits around the cable
where it comes thro the bulkhead.thats why it wouldnt come away enough to
allow the pedal off the shaft.
bung is perished so have to get one from ford tomoz.

whoever thought of this set up should have a pineapple dipped in chile shoved up
his f*cking arse.repeatidly.for weeks.in public.
