First of all... Hope everybody had a good Xmas and planning a good new year...!

There hasnt been too much progress on UKV this month due to the crap weather and having no screen in the car does make it a bit tricky taking the car from my Garage to the bodyshop about 1/2 mile. Only really been able to work on the car at the weekends too...

Anyway here are a few purchases i have Wind Deflectors, Genuine Ford Headlight Protectors and finally a Laguna Non Vented Splitter,

Image

Image

Now for a few pics of cleaning up the sill prepping for the new panel to be cut and welding on...

Hello all.... Bit of another update the Sill is now on and fitted...

Morning started with a drive down to the bodyshop inside as the weather was sooo damm cold... As Killer was free (fork lift)
we drove the car ontop its forks to long bits of wood underneath the the to balance the weight... Then up she went...

Time to get my Ford Sill out and see where it was needed to be marked and cut....

Image

Image

Then it was time to place on the car and see if any bits needed to be trimmed off to make suit....

Image

Image

Bedore it was time to wled in the pannel we hole punched the pannel lips ever 2inch as it was done fron the factory for all of the spot welds....

Then ones we got it all lined up and molegripped down it was time for the Boss to come over and weld in the panel.

Image

Image

Image

Image

and then all complete ready to be ground down smoothed off

Image

Image

Then came the time underseal the inside of the wheel arch sill... ground all the welds back and undersealed so no water or crap can get in...

Image

Finally all the welds were ground back and it was time to spay over all the bare metal and look back at the finished product

Image

Image

Image

Next on the list to do is the following.....

Image

Once again thanks for looking and please feel free to comment...

Cheers

Evening all.... Its time for yet another Massvie update.... Managed to get Thursday off work and also tuesday to give me a nice long weekend to work down the bodyshop on the RS.... So here you go with a few pics and the progress that has happened...

First job was to finish the rear sill on the drivers side.... After to good session with the nail gun it looked a bit like this lol...

Image

Image

Image

Then it was time to mark out the old nasty rust and cut it out...

Image

Then once it was all cut out time to prep up the patch to be made and all the edges to get a nice weld onto...!

Image

Whilst sorting out that patch we cleaned up the arch and noticed another small part that needed doing...

Then i thought wow finally all sorted whip the rear bumper off and just the passenger side rear arch to go...!!

Nooooooooooo it was never going to be this easy was it...!!

Image

both rear panels on the side rotten. One of them has gone through both layers... and then the worst bit... Passenger side rear boot floor...!!

Here are a few pics of the patches and bits we have cut out...!!

Image

Image

Image

Image

Image

Image

Image

Image

Image

Image

Image

Then once alot of the patches have been made and welded it it was time to get the rust killer out and have a good clean up and seam seal it all up and paint it with black rubber guard...

Image

Image

Image

Image

With a few pattches to be made still for the boot floor we turnt out attention too the rear arch....

Image

The inner arch all welded in.. awaiting the outer arch.

Image

and finally my boot to be preped up...

Image

Image

Also whislt i was down the garage thought i would take a few snap shots of cars down there at the moment...

Image

Right i thought it was time for another update..... So here it goes...

I have flatted and sorted out the imperfections in the rear bumper i brought...

Image

Image

Image

Image

Also i brought my new rear wheel arch... :)

Image

So that was then chopped and welded into place...

Image

So welding the new panel in due to the escort having waffer thin metal there was a bit of distortion so i have to get the low points out...

Image

Once i was happy enough that it was fairly straight out come the filler....!!!

Image

Then flat it back and re apply some more....

Image

and again.....

Image

and fianlly again....

Image

Whilst i had some filler to play with i did the passenger side door shut...

I aslo noticed i had 2 small dents and little bit of surface rust on the lower qtr... So that was treated and flatted out also...

Image

A few more pics of the filler work...

Image

Image

Finally i was happy with the arch work it was time to take the rear windows out.... :(

The car has had in its life 'lass up' job done on the drivers rear window and looks like the rear window has never been out before as this is what i found....

Image

Image

Great..... When you think all the welding is done you find more...!!! :rolleyes

Latest is that has been cut out and welded in a new piece... I am also in the process of stripping down the new boot and prepping that...

Please could i possibly get some help from you guys tho... Im looking for a this rubbers part number so i can buy a new one...

Image

Image

Also on the look out for a Heated front screen Loom & switch.....

Thanks for looking comments welcome as always...

Cheers

Update..........

Well its been a few months and deadlines have come and gone... but im still working on UKV.....

But finally it is getting very very close to paint,

I have cleaned all the sills under the car and rust treated them, undersealed them and finally painted with rubber guard to give them a bit more protection...

Image

Image

Image

Image

Image

Now for a few more pics of the bodywork....

Image

Image

Image

Image

Image

Image

Also i have managed to finally get hold of the heated screen loom....

I have purchased the paint for the car so we are on the downhill part of the restro now.... Total for paint £225

Thats £50 more than i brought the car for

Cheers

Update......!!! Sorry its been a while i have been doing a bit every week also helping out too...

Now i have finished doing a little bit of the underside it was time to turn back to the exterior... After a long chat with the sprayer and my dad we have decided to take the car to another stage...!! There was a few marks and a few little dings in the door and a tiny bit of rust creeping in so decision was to do all the doors and wings are to be painted...!!

So off to prep the doors it was.....

Image

Image

Image

Image

Image

As the doors were off and pretty much rest of car was ready to prime it was decided to get it in primer...!!

Image

Image

Image

Image

Image

Image

Then all the masking done... time to drive it into the booth...!!

Image

Later that week i decided to nip down and see how the primer looked...

From the amount of primer you can see how much work has gone into this RS2k

Image

Image

Image

Image

Image

Image

So on the list of stuff to finish off are as follows...

Doors primed and flatted,
Wings prepped and primed and flatted
Clear car out of crap....
Flat primed boot
Flat primed car
Paint Car and parts
Fit Bumper, skirt, doors, boot.
Falt and polish whole car,
Fit Windscreen loom and Screen
Prime and paint wheels
MOT

And all this to be done by 26th Sept.....!! The Race is on.....!

Please feel free to comment as always

Cheers
