not good
went out to my car to day to do some work on it so i cheacked every think oil and the water lookded all good

but went to check the oil looked on the dip stick and tehre was some mayo on it so wipped it off and put back in and out and oil was ok
so i thourght to cheack in the oil filler cap and look what i found

so i thougth i know what take it off and change the rocker gasket as i have one may as well
and got confrounted with this




well that my day been told that it is head so hear is my question would i be better and cheeper to go anad get a fiesta 1.3 that is almost scrap and get the engin out and some other parts mend this one and scrap the othe shell ? or repair my head

you do know that those engines have a habbit of condensating the oil up the top end dont you?! theyre worse for doing it if the engines run up for a short amount of time. lots of short trips etc if its not using water from the header tank leave well alone. ive had 2 fiestas with that engine in...they made that gooey shit but never used any water. i cleaned the breathers out every couple of months and just let it get on with it.

the cars been sat there for a while hasnt it?? as jam said most likely just condensation mate.

I wouldnt worry too much at ths stage pal

i get this every winter. i usually get quite a bit in the oil cap and the oil filler neck due to it getting so cold then leaving at 6am for work and only driving for 5 miles so that gooey shit starts to appear. like jam if its not using water dont worry

Used to get this on my 1.1, nothing to worry about mate, just keep it cleaned out

worst offender is the gauze in the filler cap. that and the pipe that goes to the airbox. it generally wont put that much in the airbox. the guaze usually catches it.

whats it smell of when its been running. that goo will have an oily petrolly scent. its not pleasant but its the way they are

i had the same problem mate and i done exaxctly what jam said and it just went after i started to use it just gave it an oil cahnge after a couple of hundred miles to freshen it up a bit and then she was fine never had it again.

give her a good run after to pump the new oil all round and you miught find it a bit every now and aagain because its being pumped round but after a few oil changes should all be flushed out then.
