So how when there was a silcone contamination in petrol it was all from supermarket petrol not the brand names like Bp & Shell? doesnt that say something about the quality?

In my experience i seem to do more miles using bp/shell fuel than supermarket fuel.
I dont use V-power, but i know my old man used to have to use it in his Hayabusa otherwise it wouldnt run to its full potential.

I'm sure I've read that most supermarkets use a higher percentage of ethanol in their fuel to stretch their earnings. it's a bit like cutting cocaine with aspirin.

I have been told they used to water it down, got.done for it, and.it doesnt happen anymore.
Either way I have no problems with it, and as i say most of you guys that are talkong have been mapped for.it or have higher hp cars than my original comment was meant.for!

I read up somewere, that the higher octane on the V-power doesnt burn as hot and takes longer to burn helping to eliminate Pinging? i just read it on the Gixxer forum.

Pinging. Ewww, not heard that for a long time. We call it knock or DET (detonation) in Jap forums :P My engine has a DET sensor to help prevent damage to the engine should it happen :)

Ahh so thats why Motorcyclists use V-power/Super unleaded in performance bikes because it burns cooler so therefore eliminates the Pinging/DET
