Ok, so my mother has one of these cars. She has given me her review of this car. Shes not an old fogey. So its not an old person whinging.

Comfort - to low to the floor, uncomfortable seats.

Interior - Cheap shitty plastic! She hated it, felt cheap and looked cheap. Put her keys in and started the car then they fell out!

Driveability - Dosen't change gear properly, theres alot of play in the gearbox. Dosen't pull very well at all, it just kangaroos even when your moving in second, alot worse than her 1.0 yaris which handles it fine.

Annoying things - Petrol light flashes at you when you've got about 70 miles left, which is really annoying apparently.
- The indicator clicking noise is weird!

Parking - Rubbish, couldn't get to grips with parking with it, was a struggle (granted, she is a woman)

Brakes - Taps her foot on the pedal and she goes through the windscreen. Not good for her!

In comparison she says she much prefers her Yaris, but that is £12,500 of car.
In comparison to dads 1.0 Aygo, it dosen't feel cheap inside, the seat position is good, and it "shifts" (her words!) much better.

Oh sorry! I forgot there was one plus point

- When you lock the car the windows go up as well :)

She didn't like the brakes as they were way to sharp and nearly put her through the windscreen. This is my mums review not mine! And she isn't biased to any car makes or anything she just hates it

And sorry about not reading the rules :P I just thought i'd do a quick one as you asked for it ;)

The only reason I posted it is because today I had to go pick her up from somewhere.. Why? because she got dad to drop her off and was willing to get a bus back because she refused to drive the C2! So she wouldn't be able to drive the car or own if for more than a few weeks :(

I'd rather ride a bike in a blizzard than get on a bus so she must really hate it

As I do know a few things about the C2 and drove the C£ exclusive which is a C2 VTR in different cloths there is some points I would like to make.

Not sure about being too low to the floor, feels the very similar to my dads mk6 and any other car of the age.

As for the brakes they are amazing, I will admit when I have been driving the focus I do feel the difference massively and in 'normal' brakes I just don't hit the brake as hard.

The drive-ability sounds very wrong the C3 exclusive has the same engine/gearbox and it changes gears perfectly, never kangaroo'ed, gear changes where quick and it pulls well (beat a phase 1 Saxo VTR)

Parking is amazing, its a small car with a short wheel base and excellent turning circle.

The interior plastics are fine, yes there is a matter of opinion here but the few members who have been in my car and have said its better than they expected.

To me it sounds very much like she doesn't know how to drive this car as its different to her last and is blaming the car.

This is more as I know about the car rather than a blind defence because I own a similar model I will add.

If the gears are moving when there in, and are hard to find, thats not mums fault  she's been driving20 years.
If the seats to low that's not her driving :P and if the interiors cheap tack, thats not her driving.
Yes the brake thing might be something to get used to, nut she' rather the less aggressive yaris.

Just mainly saying, there's a reason people dont always go foe the "cheapest most powerful" etc. Hence there chpice of ford, Mazda, etc etc

I am starting to get confused, the VTR is the flappy paddle affair so can't have 'loose gears', unless its a newer one with the strange naming convention they have just done which means it could be a 1.1/1.4/1.6

From memory the 1.1 is 61bhp, 1.4 is 75bhp and 1.6 110bhp (all sensodrive) so the 1.1 and 1.4 are hardly going to set the world on fire.

Has she tried adjusting the seat height and steering wheel position?

I really must defend the manual gear boxs, it is the most clear box I have ever used (except for the H box in the single seater)

So its a small car which has probably been ragged within an inch of its life, it isn't a 1.6,probably 1.1 if a courtesy car, yes the yaris is lighter and probably quicker.

My dad had a ford galaxy courtesy car and dare a say it suffered similar afflictions, my other half had a clio much the same.

In short terms courtesy cars are far from the best example of any car and to base a review on a short driving experience of a most probably poor condition car isn't the fairest of reviews it is?
