Threw it in early for the MOT, knew it would fail on the cat, but wanted to see what else was duff.

Indicator bulbs were the wrong colour due to peeling on the bulbs, this I don't need help with.

The rear brakes have too low an efficiency on the rolling road test, they're the normal drums on an SI, how do I tighten it up? The RBT returned an efficiency of 49%.

The front anti-rollbar bushes are knackered, can they be reused from another car?

The brake pipes have been refused due to corrosion, I've cleaned these off before and undersealed them and they passed, think I'll do them again.

You adjust the rear brakes via the ratchet thats part of the shoes mate.

Front arb bushes can get got of ebay or a motor factors for a few quid.

Thing with the rear brakes though, the handbrake is very good, will hold the car on a steep slope on two clicks, so is it that adjustment?

check how much meat is left on the shoes and check the diameter of the drum as thy have a limit aswell

with regards t the ratchet is a auto adjust system so if you took the drum off youd have to move the ratchet back in to get the drum back on and pump the brakes to ratchet them back out

the handbrake will be good because it work off the cable that goes direct to the rear brakes but the rear brakes work of the hydraulic whel cylindr at the back so check the rubbers when the drum is off or keep an eye on the brake fluid level. if they weep a bit around the seals that could be causing the drop on the brake test. (not holding the pressure)

Read up on my RBT results, 3.7.A.9 is the parking brake. I've discovered the drivers side drum moves fairly easily at 2 clicks on the handbrake and the passenger side drum is rock flippin solid. At three clicks I can just about get movement from the drivers side. What should I adjust exactly? That god damn hole for the adjuster is making fun of me as I can't see what I'm doing and wiggling a screwdriver about doesn't seem to do anything.

This is the last thing that needs to be done on the checklist before the retest, would like to get it done asap! help!
