im not that dopey! im having fun like

oil filter looks mint and it was done last year and ive only done 5000 miles so im going to leave that for a bit. however the fuel filter hasnt been done in a while by the looks of it... will post pics later once i finally finish it!

did it stop leaking after you disconnected the fuel lines? or had it carried on leaking?

wooo.

onslack, it was leaking from the filter lol but i didnt realise there would be so much fuel left in there. there still is like, is that normal?

but yeah, new ones in and the cars running. i see what everyone means, i feel F'ing great lol. if i had the oil id tackle that! btw, do i need a new sump plug washer? or is it down to the condition of it whether you change it?

girlfriend just failed her test for the 2nd time

so my feelings are balanced now lol.

thanks for all the advice and persuasion to do it myself everyone! have to do the spark plugs on wed at my mates because i dont have a spark plug remover!

yeah thats normal for the fuel fiter :thumbsup:

imo i'd re-new the sump plug washer when you do the oil change

congrats tho buddy, we've all got to learn somewhere :chill:

one more thing, i spilt a lot of fuel whilst doing it so is it okay to wash inside the engine bay or is it a bad idea?

as i said im doing my plugs on wednesday! have to space them dont you on the spark plug?
fuel filter would have been a dodle if id realised to put the plug on the filter lol! think the oil will be a doddle, just new a new washer for it. 10mm spanner? bit of kitchen roll! i think thats the main stuff. and obviously a pot of some sort for the oil. you going to use engine flush with yours?

haha, my step mum left hers for ages on her 05 plate fiesta, they rusted in and shes had to get the drilled out! :doh:

Fuel line will always leak when you change the filter, no worries there!

Oil filter has done 5000 miles and you're leaving it??? Change the fekking thing! You'll just going to contaminate that lovely clean fresh oil you put in! Mine get's change every 3000-4000 miles with the oil, and sometimes get's changed before the oil is due anyway!

And definately change the sump plug washer. Last thing you want to do is fill it all up only to find the old one isn't sealing anymore and you have to drain it all again for the sake of a washer.

Well done though, you're getting there! Told you you'd feel great after doing it!

yeahh i meant i wasnt going to do any of it! but i have funds now so ill get it all sorted tomorrow.
mouse, any idea how much the seal will be from ford? i know it shouldnt be expensive but i know what main dealers are like!

one other question since im too tired to check the haynes, how much oil do i put into the engine? i know its until its between min a max on the dipstick, but would 2l be enough?

I think it somewhere around 3L I dunno though.. My mate only did it for me two days ago -.- But he just poured and checked and poured and checked a couple times
