Yeah Oil catch tank, catch can, same stuff really! :P TBH I wouldn't spend a lot of money on one, they all do the same job at the end of the day in my uneducated opinion :D

I'll send you the link later, it worked out at £25-ish! Then next month I'll be sticking an uprated Walbaro Fuel pump in - the limiter on mine is 8700rpm, on the clocks it looks like 9300ish

Where were you last night then, Adam?

My exhuast is knocking again, and it's due to my bodged standard middle section, so I'll be looking for a proper stainless section soon when funds allow!

Thanks lads. I'm going to decide where to fit it at the weekend and get on it!

My engine bay needs a good clean, but I don't have anything heavy duty enough, and I don't like steam cleaning. I'll wait for the engine to be out for that one!

what are the benefits of an oil catch tank, might sound stupid butiv never looked into them as iv never felt the need for one.

Loumiester - I've basically bought it as a pre-emptive for the turbo build. Basically from what I understand (very little!) there is excessive blow-by (leakage past the piston and oil control rings) of air and fuel vapour which can occur for either turbo cars or highly strung N/A cars.. Now my oil control rings are shot a little bit anyway, so this may help a tiny bit to boot.

I have a PCV valve, which as far as I know, most cars have as standard (Positive Crankcase Ventilation) basically allows these fuel and air "vapours" to be sent back into the intake for the engine to use. However! oily vapours and rubbish settle inside the engine intake and over time form a gunky liquid.

This little item that I've bought collects a lot of the oil mist and kind of "flattens" (can't think of the word!) the fuel vapors while allowing cleaner air and gases to be passed back into the intake.

Crankcase pressure is a much more important thing when you have a turbo strapped on, so this will help with the ventilation of the positive pressure as well!

Yeah it's not a necessity at all! However if you're into your engine bay dress-up, at £25 it's not a bad punt really. :)
