How do I go about fitting my recaro's to my Mk5?

I've got 3.5 Subframes and the Recaro.

I've given one to my mechanic mate and i've got one at home, is it literally bolt the subframe onto the seat, take my original seat out and bolt this one in?

M3/4/5 all have the same floorpan so surely the bolt places etc are the same?

Also seat belt pre-tensioners, are these on the subframes so I don't have an ABS light on all the time?

I believe mk3.5/4/5 are the same so should fit, not sure on the light but I guess you can use you mk5 subframes.

Hmmm. But people say you need the mk3.5 subframes for them to fit.

I'll have a look tommorow its too dark to see, and I don't know what i'm looking for with the pre-tensioners, I'm hoping theres just a place to plug it straight in If not i'll see if the mk5 subframes will fit the seats.

I'm just gonna have a bash at it.

Well the mk3.5 subframes will fit the floor as the mk3.5/4/5 are the same.

Ok thats cool, so it'll be a simple swap, its just literally whether or not the pre-tensioners are on the 3.5 subframe.

That might be your only problem, surely someone has done this before.

mmhmm. Can't find anywhere though, even on ZSOC the only thing you can get out of anyone is "you need the 3.5 subframes and tophats"

I don't think i've actually got those top hats though, thats a picture I've found.

I'll go and have a look later, but as far as i know I need one tophat per seat, you just bolt it in, slide the subframe onto it, bolt the subframes in and whack the seat on. its all a question of whether I have the top hats, if not i need to visit mr.scrap man

removing those might be a bit of a fail as the car those Si seats came out of was scrapped ages ago

you might have to source some from someone on here breaking a car

Yeah ive lpoked dont have them lol depending on what time i get away today ill pop down the breakers.
If anyones got a minuite and could te/l me the sizes of the bolts so i know what sockets to take etc.. would.be appreciated!

Ok seat belt pretensioners aren't on the subframes any ideas apart from taking out the airbag bulb?

And I need the top hats from a 3.5
