ok the squealing is back and the clicking is louder then ever.
I have the dreadful feeling it is something to do with my cambelt as something is hitting the plastic covering the cambelt.

What kind of milage can a cambelt do before it should be replaced?
I thought it was best to be replaced at 60k. mine had a new cambelt 40k ago so thought I was safe for a little while.

I was planning on getting the cambelt done next month anyway so its no big deal if it is. Just I need to know if it will hold out till payday as I need the car for work
Already had a quote of 170 to have the cambelt done.

yeah it went in for a service and an mot not long ago and had no problems. Even though it was clicking.
Its just gotten drastically worse the past week

wow this si really loves you doesnt it lol. have you had the water pump done? if not it may just be worth doing it when you get the cambelt done

tell me about it. Its off the road now and the waterpump is down the list a bit now.
Cambelt looked good when i checked seems to be a bit of plastic or some such. I'll still be getting it sorted when its back on the road.
