Old engine is out but the guy who let sam borrow his engine crane wants it back. So not sure when the new engine will go in!

can't he whack it in on a mount quickly then give it back?

Slide the engine under the car, then lower the car back down over the engine. Trolley jack the engine into the bay and with 2 of you it will be back in in no time, Ive fitted loads of engines and have never used a crane. Most engines wont go in from the top if the gearbox is connected but if put in from underneath you can bolt it all in together.

right i may aswell update this ... meilack.. u should have seen the crease in the shirt u would have done the same lol .. terry what u may do to your engine with your testicles does not reflect what i do.. i did stick my knob in the downpipe though back to the car ... the engine is out and the crane is gone but no matter i will soldier on. i will be dismantling the old and swapping to the new on friday eve depending how soon i can get the farking headgasket kit and all the other shiz plus i need a exhaust manifold because its cracked then all that needs doing is cambelt and timing, valve stem oil seals and some douche to supply a group a coil then it shall be put back in the car. then the usual oil replacement etc and test run. it will be tight for time for the southern meet BUT im ever hopefull
