On Mondeo plans:

Will be getting some lovely fiberglass and things next week when I get paid (WOOP!) and will spend my spare time doing the bumper mods.

I currently have a flat in Newcastle (about 1.5 mile from the centre) but due to work commitments (easy money lol) I will be at my Mums in the week, so that means plenty of time to do car things

So bumpers will get done in no time!!

Updates Updates.... Not massive updates, but updates none for less...

I have completed a full service on the Daily Bus (at 115,000 miles)

I have fitted a sunstrip (because I fancied one)

I have got hold of some Heated Windscreen Washer Jets, which need wiring up, ready for the winter

I have ordered a sticker for my bootlid, a tasteful Stewie from family guy one

I have ordered a tax disc holder which says (Yes I have paid my tax, no go fix some f*cking potholes!) - I thought it was brilliant... now I have to pay 112.50 for 6 months f*cking tax!!!

Bumpers still havent been painted, I am spending money on other more important things first at the moment... but they will be done shortly

I am on the look out for an exhaust which exits on the drivers side, there is one on ebay at the moment, but its 150 miles away so I'm not buying it - I have seen some decent ones for sale, but they are around £160 (but it comes with an ST24 decat pipe, which I could sell on for around £40)

Also the possibility of fitting some daytime running lights in the front bumper grill, as thats the cool thing to do nowadays

At around 125k I shall be pointing the car towards a garage for timing belt and water pump change! (as fuck doing that myself)

But running lights are the future! (literally, as they are going to be on all new cars from next year) - I probably won't fit them though

Doing around 38-40mpg with mixtures of roads and driving moods

Tempted to get 2.0ltr cams, maf, ecu fitted when the timing belt and waterpump gets done to give it some "130" spec love instead of its 115 spec.. although unsure if I should bother or not

It shouldnt cost much at all, all scapyard parts!

Unsure of the technicalities of the ECU/PATS setup on the Mondeo, so not sure which ECU's do and don't work, and not alot of people have done the "130" spec 1.8 blacktops so it seems...

Hopefully I find a late MK2 Blacktop 2.0ltr Mondeo, and then the ECU should just work in it

Why not if its cheap and easy, i would, much more up for it than trying to do bodywork, its not my speciality

I'm in no rush to make the engine changes just yet, need to find an exhaust for it, very very hard to find one

If anyone can find info on the MK2 Mondeo ECU's regarding blacktop engines it will help, as I'm not sure what ones have internal or external pats etc etc

Ok well, searching around the net to see what I can do with the rear bumper & exhaust issues!

Got 4 options here:-

Option 1:- Get either standard 2.0ltr or V6 exhaust or aftermarket which exits on the drivers side, and weld a bracket for the extra box (and poss weld pipe to mount CAT if using V6 exhaust) (Cost around £180 if using aftermarket)

Option 2:- Cut hole on passenger side of bumper, to enable use of standard fitting exhaust (replace backbox with something fancy) - Then somehow fill the hole on the drivers side (Cost around £100 for aftermarket, but could stick to standard, bit of hassle on bumper mods)

Option 3:- Cut hole on passenger side of bumper, to enable use of standard fitting exhaust (replace backbox with something fancy) - leave hole on the drivers side, maybe put an exhaust trim in it to act like dual exit exhausts (bit pikey)

Option 4:- Cut hole on passenger side of bumper, Find and mod V6 twin exit exhausts (aftermarket or standard ST200) (Cost will be upwards of £100, as even standard ST200 exhausts go for daft money)


I am leaning towards Option 2, although unsure on the strength of filling a hole that large on a flexable bumper
