pick my car up today from my mates both rear arches been repaired so not looking to bad also took stickers off and its take the paint off

unlucky insane man. i say you spray it yourself!
realised i need to get it looking presentable for sixfields!

yes i am going to be painting it my self but i am thinking maybe some new stickers too.. but i have some jobs i need to do like refit the back seats wax oil and a few other jobs

i need to waxoil too mate. found out its better than undersealing! where you getting the spray gun and compressor mate?

i had the wex oil kit for some time its just a sray bit on a 5 L can the paint going to get it from halford and get a friend to blow it over he not done a bad job of the arches not as good as a sray job from a body shop but the car not worth that sort of money

yeah fair shout mate. hear about these spray jobs for a couple of grand, but when it comes to selling the car your obviously not going to sell it for a couple of grand! that is if you sell it.

thats always been a major issue, you want it to look the dogs but its not easy to get the proper finish by yourself. My mate works in a body shop and he told me he wouldnt be able to do it much cheaper than £1500 (maybe hes just not being a good mate lol) that money is never gonna be seen again either. Mind you I saw a man on passion ford just have a crack at it and it looked good for a first attempt, he just borrowed a mates compressor and bought the spray gun from halfords, but paid top dollar for the pro paint (£250) did the whole car and it looked good. i just dont have to bottle to try (it could go so wrong so easily)

My car saw a hose and sponge to get rid of the bird muck it had been abused by at work last night. hopefully fitting my brakes tomorrow

the problem is how much the car worth my mate a very good panel beater and he welded the rear acrches up he not done a bad job but he got a mop to buff the car up after so think i be going that way

yeah good point. its down to how much you care about the car to do it yourself and have the possibility of messing it up badly.

took the stickers off also painted the old mirrors same as the car so maybe removing the mirrors

fitted a decal or two

put brake lines on

order some neww stickers for car also refitted the rear seats and panels the car is coming together now i going to sort some body work my self the weekend if i got time a smal bit a round the sunroof also rear hatch boot rear do the bit a round the lock the spraying was good but my rubbing down was crap

refitted the dash on the XR2i, got it running and took to the end of my drive and gave it some to see how its doing, got so much wheel spin i almost cried with joy. i love that car cant wait to start work on it properly

sourced some alloys. look smart. just need an ash black bonnet then i can get it looking okay again! washed it and vacuumed it for a trip to the trafford centre-dirty again!

Same as everyone else....i drove him....parked up in my local tesco's and thought about having a bashing one out....but the old bill drove in so i didn't.
