Fiesta plans

Get the Si where I want it:
- RS/Xr arches and skirts painted and on
- RS turbo bonnet painted and on
- In good condition and few bits wrong, things missing etc
- 2.0 ECU to cure idle issue and upto good map
- 4-2-1 manifold with swappable standard system for cat/mot purposes, using mk4 midsection with Si backbox
- No more rust, cure and paint all others including back of door and rear drivers arch
- Polybush set for the rear to complete
- RS turbo Recaro front seats (rears is possible)

Then once its at this stage, ill be happy and can complete it as a project, then commence another mk3 project after some searching

Has to be
- 3 door
- Solid underneath
- Not in the best of states to be a busy project
- Any colour but the same as the Si (petrol blue/blue)
- Poverty spec exterior trim
- Turned into a sleeper initially
- RS turbo engine

Aiming to have a similar type of project/restore as the previous, the green 1.3, but not to sell on

teased myself with one of the arches, im gonna start spraying these up VERY soon as i just cant weait any longer :D
Image

got a small list of things to paint, im gonna try and get through them all over the next week, now i know i can make the laquer smooth as a babies ass using some 1200 and cutting compound and my leccy mop, as ive done with the lower front of my door

- paint rust up ont he back of the door/panel
- paint rust over the arch
- paint the Xr skirts/arches and fit
- paint mirror casings
- paint rear window pins satin
- buy and paint a replacement fog surround and fit
- buy and paint a RS bonnet and fit (will probs be professionally done as its very easy to spot blemishes in a bonnet)

me and matt went for a trip to margam park and took some nice pictures in the nice weather, he has loads with his proper camera, im sure he will upload soon

well, been a long todays for me, me and the other half travelled to swindon last night after work (left at 7) met with wayne at cribbs for a chat and catch up, bought a puma gear linkage off him, and springs ill add
then at about something to 11 we set off back on the M4 untill we got to membury services for the night

slept in the car  , set off at 10 the next day towards woking in reading to meet RS220bhp (sorry mate dont think i cought your name) to collect a RS turbo bonnet, with that in the boot we then set off down to Southampton, long congested drive down the M3 and finally met phil_pearce to take collection of a full RS turbo interior (excluding rear quaters, didnt see much point as i wont like having grey parts over my black ones)

ending up with a very crowded Si

after some pitstops at services got home just shy of half 8, and unloaded

my dad collected these from the sorting office after missing them yesterday, thanks to Scott for sending me them :) the one im missing is the petrol blue one, which is time saving, the other is aubergine
Image

test fitted, as i had no idea how to get the runners off the Si seats (thanks to the chaps i texted i know do :P you know who you are :Q ) and also that one in the pic is the passengers i realised after tryign to adjust the tilt :P
Image

think ive amassed a big enough collection of RS parts, time to get fitting them

Are the pop-outs worth the effort? My Saxo had them and I never touched them. ALl my other cars never had the option.

I actually prefer the wingbacks to the racaro's, each to there own.

Had it RR'd out of interest? :)

no anoyingly lol, i really wanna get it dyno'd and on a 0-60, anything close enough to my estimate of 130bhp and id be happy, mind you byt he time i dyno it, id have fitted a 2.0 ecu and possibly four branch, so by them id be wanting more than 140 :)

i missed out at FF due to the crash busting the radiator, didnt want to risk it, ive done a few 'self runs' and ive come up with 8.2-8.5 seconds on various runs
so will be interesting to see what it will do with accurate equipment :o

as for dyno's ive been unsure abotu my nearest one in Llandow in bridgend (wales) that pehaps its inaccurate, so i dont weanna get over zealous to a over reading result, so kinda holding off for a rolling road day with this site or similar

im also dieing to take it on track, im iffy around corners at speed, even though the car handles well, it aint let me down, after crashing the last Si i had due to silly driving ive never regained my nerv, so taking it on track over time i can learn where its limits are

and yea the pop outs are deffo worth the effort, they add to the exclusivity of the car, and theyre very practical, as you can see from where the rachet straps were positioned in the above pics

i deffo like the recaro's more, and ive not even fitted them yet plus they look stunning

never too keen to speak abotu your VTS or saxo are you lol

Just a reference I only ever had one car with them and never used them. 0-60 sounds pretty good overall would indicate you are getting around your expected power which sounds good as many have had issue getting the right power with mixs of sensors etc.

Overall one of the better Si's we have :)

wow thanks for the kind words guys :D

if i got into the 7's it be very pleased, but its a long term dream for now, as im happy hwo it goes as it is :)

im sure after a 2.0 ecu, superchip and a four branch i will reach the 7's and have close enough to 150bhp as i can, thats always been my plan sicne buying the engine for the mk4 at xmas

just have to see how it goes

think your right there percy, how it pulls and the speeds it reaches is testament to the mods working together, so somethings been done right :P
it reached a top speed of 130 in the mk4, ive yet to get on a private grounds to do it again in the Si
(but ive sneaked a naughty 120 elsewhere) shhhh

i dunno about it being one of the better ones, but id like to hope so :D maybe id be easier to beleive that once its finished

sadly money income has really hit the fan now, so this will likely be the last of new things for the Si's stockpile, apart from spraying the bits like arches/skirts and bonnet, nothing else will be done for a while as ive got insurance to pay £100 a month and still paying the loan for the car to my grandfather

however got 3 of the Recaro seats fitted, weather turned bad so run out of time for the passengers seat
