So got the tensioner sorted today no more whining

But the clicking remains.
It only clicks when I am accelerating. So coasting no clicking and when I'm just maintaining speed with my foot on the accelerator no clicking either.
It is literally only when I am gaining speed, no matter what gear I am in. It sounds like it is coming from the drive/aux belt area but I have replaced the alternator, belt and idle tensioner and the spare pulley (bottom middle).

Anyone any ideas where the miscreant lies?

Also to add to my foglights have stopped working not the fuse but if a bulb has blown can it cause them both to go off and the light on the switch inside to not come on?

could be a blown relay for the fog lights

Fog lights are now sorted
Had a fiddle with them after coming home shopping. Took both the foglights off. Checked and cleaned connections inside them and where the clip into the main wire and they are working again.

Now back to the clicking, last thing left to sort out finally!

Im guessing all your drive tutrain (e.g driveshafts, etc) are ok?

gona go way off track here with the clicking sound but you haven't got a stone stuck in a tyre have you?

The boots by the wheels are fine but I'm aware there is one on the driveshaft.
Where abouts is it located?

on the pass side you should see it when you take the wheel off and the other one you have to get inder the car to see it

alrighty will have to take a look at the weekend as if it is those then it has been clicking for a few months and has covered about 1k doing it

Give this fiesta 1 thing its a tough car and keeps going no matter the problem (apart from when the alternator failed once)

ok its nothing on the driveshafts all looks intact and sounds good

I'm going to go with something on the drivebelt being the issue as something squealed on it yesterday.
Water pump is a likely suspect as its one of the only things left on that belt that hasn't been replaced.
I'll bite the bullet and replace the bearings in it.

If you are going to go to the hassle of replacing the bearings in the pump would you not just be better buying a new pump and replacing the whole unit?

Would save removing the cam belt and replacing it again in 6 months when something else goes on the pump?!?!

probably would. Gonna get the cam belt done soon anyhow it was done 40k ago so I'm going to have it done again (so its being done every 40k)
Might just lump it all in at once to save the hassle of having it done twice
