Here's my current affairs with regard to my new st150 brakes, had a serious issue with the powder coaters taking forever and not really doing a good job so here are a few pics of where i am at as of this moment.

what i have at the moment
Image
then heres the 1 caliper fist already blasted
Image
This one hasnt been blasted yet, as you can see theres a little damage to the paint which is why i wanted them re-done
Image
These are my nice new Braided brake lines, fresh from HEL
Image
and heres my mate being super professional while taking the piston out, all wrapped up for the powder coaters
Image

will put pictures up when i get them back from the powdercoaters later this week :) :)

Thinking about it, not gonna do it straight away though as money is tight and there are things I want to do before I do the rear conversion. Thinking I'm gonna do it after I do the 2L conversion to give better braking when I have the better power

If you do the rear brake conversion it needs a bias valve as well right?

Sorry Percy but could you explain that last bit, will it need a new brake servo, it will need a bias valve or it will be fine with the st150 calipers alone. I'm not to sure which bit is refering to which bit. lol

You will be fine with the standard servo with the st brakes, you will need a bias for rear discs. The standard servo should still be fine but you can upgrade it if wanted.

To be honest I had the ST150 front setup on my 2.0 and it was more than enough, rear discs aren't needed.

You will know what I mean when you get them on.

Just had another major hiccup with the brake conversion, I had it all set up ready to go, got the pistons in but for the life of me I couldn't get the new seal on. After almost an hour and a half of prying the thing on to no avail I gave up and my friend has taken them to his work to have a go there. Hopefully have them on early next week. Arghhhh it's taking so long.

So here we are this afternoon all ready to go, everything in order ready to fit. Discs-check, fists-check, carriers-check, pads-check, seals-check... etc...etc
Image
Nice shot of current set up
Image
old set up ready to come of (this was taken for a before after shot)
Image
same again on the other side

Pistons going in

Duhduhduh... our problems begin. stupid seal wouldnt go on, we reckon the powdert coaters F***ed up by not taping up the lip where the metal ring of the seal fits on to the caliper. the tolerance fit is therefore too much and we couldnt get them on.
Image
Image
so they're going to Gaydon to get some Jag Land-Rover excelence. hopefully he will either get the ring ons with the use of some other tools at work or use something to file the paint back off where the p coaters oversprayed. needless to say im annoyed at the quality of the p coaters work.

good work on the callipers, regarding the piston dust covers,

make sure you have clean hands and that the inside of the caliper is clean and free from dirt, shot blast and powder coat, and remove the bleed nipples and brake pipes

first of all use a light grease like petroleum jelly (vasaline) on the seals and a light smear around the piston

put the dust cover on the piston first but near the bottom not in the reccess, but also so the bottom of the dust cover is hanging off the piston,

then fit the dust cover to the caliper (while the dust cover is around the piston still)

then gentle push the piston down making sure it stays level all the way down
