My gf's car is from manchester which is about 10mile away.

Just found out that this list also applies to the reg plates where the three letter code is at the beginning of the plate (as it is on my Mk1)

This means my Mk1 came from Central London originally

It has well and truely been converted to a northerner now tho

I can categorically say now that there is some southern irish towns/places mentioned and its not part of the uk. So the list is false.

The southern irish regs go by the county and are issued: year, county, random number ie 91-c-12345, so the car was 1991 from cork and the number is unique to that car. Any county that begins with same letter usually had a secondary letter. Ie county clare becomes CE. The reason Cork gets C is because its a larger/more populus county- same with Dublin - D and Donegal - DL!

Back to topic Northern Ireland falls under uk so yes this list does apply. But some of the facts are wrong. Few letter combos where never issued in NI for example: Gz - belfast.....that must be pre 1950! But even at that, i have never heard of a gz (orany of these *z's) being mentioned in the old 2 letter or newer 3 letter combo NI reg line up....as well as:

Mz - belfast
Oz - belfast
Pz - belfast
Sz - down
Uz - belfast
Vz - tyrone
Wz - belfast
Yz - derry/londonderry

Few need corrected too:

Ui was tyrone not londonderry
Rz was belfast not antrim
I am also near sure iw was tyrone not londonderry

Well my honda 90 comes from exeter and that ends in dv, so its correct!! And my fez is pl which is guildford, i could probably check this with my random history i have!! Dont think my old fez is right though because it wS imported from jersey in 2005!!
