the clutch isnt actually that hard a job, it just sounds daunting, cause it costs big bucks to get it done at a garage so people think its difficult,
but if you do it your self it can cost as little as £50 plus a few hours of time.

i done the clutch on my si on my own couple days before the last south meet, its pretty easy,

obviously you gotta take the gearbox off, easiest technique i've found so far is,
put car fairly high up on axle stands. take front wheels off,

get a ball joint splitter fork (halfords sell em for not to much)
a torx set on 3/8th or 1/2 drive, i think you need the T50 and a 17mm spanner\socket to loosen and remove the pinch bolts that hold the wishbone ball joins into the hub separate the wishbones from the hubs, (some Wd40 goes down a treat here, (mind the brake disks)

you can either pop the drive shafts out the box (oil goes everywhere) or pull the inner cv boots off and pull the cv's out of the cups,

you need an 18 or 19mm socket to remove the 4 bolts that hold the cross member on(if fitted)
13mm spanner/socket on drive to undo all the gearbox bolts including the ones that hold the starter motor on, gotta remove the speedo cable, (and speed sensor if fitted)

use a crow bar to seperate the box from the engine, finally use a jack tp support the gearbox cradle undo the 4 bolts that hold the cradle and box up and slowly lower the box down

this will reveal the clutch pressure plate, use a 10mm hex socket on the bolts that hold the pressure plate on, (dont use a mult point socket else you might round of the pressure plate bolts)

fitting the clutch is the reverse or removing it :D

make sure when you put the new clutch on that you light up the centre of the clutch to exacly the middle of the flywheel and pressure plate, else you'll have trouble getting the gearbox spline shaft in place.

simples

btw id probably wait until the clutch starts slipping before replacing it, my last clutch had a real high bite point, but when i took it off it had loads of meat left on it

(an extra body to help can make the job much easier especially lifting the box back onto the engine, its hard on your own trust me)
