zetecfiesta: thats the mondeo dipstick, it was on there when i got the engine. we took the whole bare engine and box out, built the new 2ltr one, and put it and the box back in together. was a nightmare though.
make sure you have good gearbox mounts. i think i've done one of mine in already, think it was all the pushing and pulling on the cradle getting it in and out.

it is well worth doing this conversion on your Si though. it makes it a hell of a lot more driveable. The low down torque is fantastic, you just put your foot down and it goes! had a go against a friend with a newer shape(not new one) astra gsi (2ltr turbo) down a clear straight dual carriageway and at the round about i was just over one car length behind him! he was shocked to say the least.

The best thing about doing it is the cost. it's only cost me ?227! and thats including ?35 for and engine stand!

Some dozy bint has just reversed into the side of my car whilst it was parked outside my house. it's pushed it onto girlfriends 106 and dented her wing, both my rear arches are shagged. and rear bumper is scuffed, here's some pics














excellent eh. all that hard work and ruined in 10 seconds. girlfriends, been crying her heart out, bless her. police have been and everything, gonna ring insurance up in morning.
i'm proper annoyed to say the least.

the famous t-piece water hose popped in spectacular fasion today Rang my local Ford garage whilst waiting for recovery truck and found they havent got one in, but i've ordered one and it should be here tomorow.

Exactly the same as mine JJ Did it explode with the water covering the engine? Only took a day for mine to come in too, so was no problem really.

How annoying is this to read.

Your trying your best to improve the car with the 2.0L conversion, then someone hits you, then the water pipe goes.

Unlucky mate, hope you get it all sorted. Do what someone else said too, get the wheel refurbed if it needs it through there insurance.
