Right I've wanted to do this for a while now, I have the xr2i kit ready (bar painting) and I've read the guide on fiestaguides.co.uk but I'm still struggling a little. My Si is the 5 door so I knew that it would be a little tricky. Does anyone have any advise on how is best to do it. Or if anyone has done it and will be at ford fair could I have a look?
Thanks for any advice

It all fits on fine, I'd say with some self tapping screws or something, drill and put it on :D the problems you'll discover are the fact yours is five door, so where the door opens theres less space for the back arch to go on, so you need to put it on and measure it up and the cut it so that it will fit and your door will open when its done :)

Yeah I've seen that you fit it like normal then have to cut the overlapping bit and stick it to the door but then there's loads about using filler to get it flush and stuff, i've not done anything like that before so was just hoping for a little advise or I guess someone to tell me it's a piece of p*** just crack on with it lol

Go for the from factory look at involves cutting the door edge off. Plenty of room to do it on the metal. Then fill in the hole over the arch, which gets hidden when the doors are shut. IMO the method of cutting down the arch of the kit ruins the look and a body kit.

fixing the body kit to the body i would use Rivetnut my self the kit cost a bit but most body shop has this kit you may only have to drill the holes and the you used Stainless Steel bolts make a better job the problem with body kits they rust the sills out so i would was oil after too

The filler side of things just means that if you want it to blend in with the car. that was never done with mine and still looks lush :D ( can show you a picture if needed)
But thats a more technical thing, filler is very hard, wouldn't bother myself  will come out crap unless you know what you doing.

Just cut, screw on, done :D

Looks awesome Chris and it's the same colour as mine, in fact besides the kit and the smoked lights they look a close match lol ( oh yeah and the fact its a 3 door) but with regard to filler obviously as yours was the 3 door it fit perfect to begin with. mines gonna leave some big holes whether I cut the kit or cut the door so I think I'm gonna have to do it if I want it to look any good.

Hmmm, Yeah I kinda see what you mean now, where you cut it, it won't meet up with the arch properly.
Give it a go, see what happens, i'm sure someone can point you in the right direction if you have any problems!

Temporarily attach the rear arch, well secured but easy to take off, then use a fat marker on the door around the top of the arch. Cutting to the outer side of the marker line should give you a matching panel gap to the rest of the door. Grinder, then a dremel kind of tool then coarse sandpaper to smooth the metal off at the edge.

It's only the thin outer part. Once I get spare cash for some spraying filling and cutting I'm doing it.

Look up xr2i bumpers on fiestaturbo.com, you'll find a thread on there. It does the Dior cutting method, and it looks factory finish that way, whereas cutting through the arch plastic looks bodged and wrecks a body kit you have to do a huge amount of repair work if it's to be used on another car.
