dont really agree that wheel bearings isnt hard! right pain in the arse without a press, hard even with one lol

and pattern wishbones are a let down normally :rolleyes:


come on mate this is a good model car, can't you do better than an Ebay specials air filter? lol

get a K&N or green filter on it :chill:

id say to lower it and you'd have yourself a tidy motor that will give you thrills and smiles :thumbsup:

ah yea i see both points there, id still keep my eyes open for a nice deal on ebay, green tend to be cheaper than K&N so have a look on theyre site mate :)

as for the lowering aye id wait till you do the wishbones :hsugh:

Update:

Got an aerial on the damn thing so i have radio now :D

Car has just been serviced, Ford wanted £200 so i said id go local garage as they are offering £99, so man said ok i'll do it for £99, Result! :D

Now all it needs is that window switch and some hoops for the parcel shelf :thumbsup:

Car feels a little better after service and car is now FSH!

Considering selling it after the show season is finished and returning to diesel power for winter?? thoughts

New photos will no doubt turn up after southern meet on sunday :)

I wouldnt mind getting either one of these or a 2.5 Mondeo.. problem is the MPG isnt going to be good enough for me, I really need a deisel instead of the 1.8 zetec Mondeo but it just about does okay enough MPG for me to warrent living with it for now!!

0-60 was just pants, I always use a good technique and my times in previous years reflect this, the car for some reason just didn't want to give the gun

It seemed to take forever to rev and considering how warm it was I'm thinking the car is suffering heat soak big time so might be better to get a panel filter even though will become quiet

I was lol that Paul was saying turbo charge it or supercharge it, but I dunno if I can be bothered to try and get the engine and rebuild it, I need something that is proven reliable, I'm not sure about turboing alone and having 'fun' trying to find a kit, thinking a second hand focus has multilink suspension and I can tune a lot and still have a reliable car

The seats are with the car and I wouldn't want to change them but if I up the power I'd need more side support lol!

Penny for your thoughts?

wasn't this supposed to just be a runaround?

Turboing a V6 won't add half the value to the cost of it all, and adding a turbo to anything won't matter unless you get a pro to map it properly.

It's a nice car as a runaround, but nothing special - hold the pennies for something special.

Had a look, you can get a turbo kit from american tuning companies for the Cougar and Mondeos

£2k for Stage 1 meant to be about 275bhp, but think the engine has had better days

Gonna finish the main parts of the car to get everything working (not the case when i bought it)

And then keep it going until it sells :)

keep it mate! i love the purring of the v6 ok it didnt too well on the 0-60 but its a lump of a car i think if it was 0-100 it would do pretty well.

True Gentleman, true, i'd go for modifying if i had a better example and the kits were more easily available

I've chucked an advert on pistonheads to see what happens, gonna pay off the derv fiesta finance i think by selling up, then while i save for my next car may just buy an Si or something and when i dont need that it can stay on the side for a track car project when the new one arrives

Its a beauty of a car, but not really gonna be a project, but its sale will help rid me of finance :D
