oh my, this car is getting chavvyier every update

Why is it nowadays that whenever someone modifies a car it's chavvy?

I've been thinking, and i'm all for the fact that brap brap chrome, Huge ass body kits, and neon lights are now a far gone trend and are very chavvy.

But whenever someone modifies there car just that little bit, Something simple, yet different, someone comes along and calls it chavvy. Thats just disheartening a little and just makes you not want to modify your car for fear that every little thing you do is gonna be classed as "chav"

Unless its lowering it by like 40mm ( Oh .. No more than that! thats wayyy too chavvy!) and putting black wheels on it, everyone just throws comments out like the one i've just received.

I think my point being, all i've done is tint my lights, my side repeaters, fit a K&N and a cold air feed, and my "updates get chavvier every time"

How? How the hell is that at all chavvy? You don't even know me and i'm the least chaviest person you could meet!

Yeah that was my next point. I don't expect everyone to love and adore my car, I'm welcome to ideas and CC but just blatant abuse is just not particularly uplifting.

There just seems o be an "if it's not standard, it's chavvy" attitude these days, and it sums wen you fancy doing something slightly different.

1500 grit sand paper. Tinting spray, do like 3 coats. I'm pretty sure you know how to spray as you've done your car short blasts, then leave it, then two oats of laquer. And done! £7 tinting spray on eBay. £15 from motabitz for a bigger can but the small can was enough.

mate bright blue rings where your fog is meant to be, (and you've left one fog still in) is chavvy, or someone trying to be a jap boy racer with a british/yank car, doesnt work at all

the cold ram air feeds dont do jack shit to a 1600 anyway so your making it looks stupid for nothing, an the lights ont he back are plain poo if you ask me, i know you werent but i was just trying to guide you into have a decent looking little fiesta

clearly you dont want others advice on that matter so ill leave you be, it is your car after all

oh and amplified orignality is always the best route, any enthusiast would agree with that

hanging round with guys with neons undert there ford escorts and puntos with a 1.2 and oversized bumpers is not the way to go, specially on a enthusiast forum, people on these sites tend to hate them kinda 'mods'

if you want to do stuff liek them id recommend a Honda Civic or similar as fords, no it just doesnt work

amplified originality would be changing small parts for respected compan'es bits like decent splitters, lights etc, and using other fords wheels opr something like Comps or team dynamics, eg if you fitted some Escort GTi wheels, your amplifing ther look of your car using genuine OEM parts and other companies tried and tested parts

I don't "hang out" with these people with there (1.4 turbo actually..) Punto, and crappy escort the reason I posted that pic was to show why I didn't value his opinion because his car is gash. They are people that tend to turn up when i'm with my friends, who own the golfs in my other thread, which you'll find aren't "chavved up"

I just don't see how you can state a car as chavved up because it has a cold air feed and some tinted lights.. All of a sudden a slightly modified car.. Which is what people are meant to do, becomes a chavved car, its just discouraging mods. Theres no set standard on how to mod a car, you don't have to stick to ford parts, you don't have to spend £100 on rear lights, cars still look good. Just because you've fallen into the blind stereo type of any mod being "chav" thats not my problem, my car certainly wont be chavvy when its finished, and there aint a lot more going on it to be fair! So its barely even modded anyway.

Not the two small mods i've done to make my car, personally look a little better, and stand out from the crowd instead of following the herd of sheep.

And FYI. I don't like Civic's. and I don't buy things from halfrauds, I just find something that looks good from other peoples examples and toy with the ideas on my own car.

Right now im still paying off the car, I can't afford new wheels, coilovers, etc. as of yet, so i'm doing a few little things that I think are nice. i'm fine with your opinion of wanting me to pretty much keep it standard or "a bit of ford parts from other cars" but its not particularly the way i'd like to go, i'll just find something I like and use it, which will probably be some Escort GTI wheel as I do love them. See, I don't have that bad taste.
But again, No one has to follow the crowd, and shouldn't feel pressured into not doing things because other people will start throwing out chav insults. it's all about your own unique car (Within reason.. )

jony pal your being a bit harsh dont you think? fair enough if he chucked massive bean can on and stuck a massive ford sticker up the side then maybe yes it would probably be classed as a chavvy car but just tinting the rear lights up a bit and putting a cold air feed in doesnt make it chavvy. in fact if he made that cold air feed sit a bit more flush and snug it would look smart from the front and i also like what hes done with the rear lights it out of the norm and it looks good.

and for the love of god who give a shit what size engine it is! ive got a rattler with a 2i kit on recaro's and wide pots but i like the way it looks not how fast it goes its slow as shit. just rememeber that you started off with a 1.3 endura and stuck a filter on jony.
