choosen to go back to orignal routes, screw all the recent stuff

so its got the original wheels back on it
Image

blue dial lights are gone, back to green

and me and the missus gave her a good wash today, trying to do it weekly now on sundays, missed top gear for it

painted the rear drums in satin while the wheels were off
Image

as i was swapping the wheels around my spare went on the mk4, so got it back off and my mk4s old spare the 13" wheel is on the back of the mk4 now

as it was out i gave the wheel the last of my Satin paint can, nice original Pirelli P6000 tyre on it :Q
Image

in the pipeline next is spray up the unprotected metal where we were curing some rust, on the edge of the door
then spray the mirrors in petrol blue, just need some more Laquer

im trying to negotate a swap with my mk4, for a J reg mercury grey XR2i, its not starting atm the guys losing patiance, i have a few ideas but his garage is too cramped to work on it

mean while in my garage my dads gone and outwitted himself by buying a '65 Wolesly 1500  for the love of god, its rotten its self through in many places, keeps talking of a V8 idea  anoying thing is im the ones hes having do the welding ha, ima need a better MIG! mine cant weld more than 2mm sheet! :aaah:

naaah mk3's dont have the correct requirements to use Xenons mate, would be illegal to use them

theyre just bluey glowing H4 bulbs, and LED sidelight bulbs, they glow bluey/white :)

just give them a tug mate they pop out easy enough, id start at one fo the ends as a good place to grip it ;)

satin works best for the oem look, or you can colour code them red? did it on the mk4 and looks great, dunno about on a mk3 though :s

little photo shoot where i work :Q

not taken decent pics with the original wheels on since lowering so
seems to be only down 30mm, will be fine for now, ill drop it to 40mm in a while
main thing is im planning on removing the 1.8 from the mk4, and dropping it in the Si, makes more sence than buying a 2.0 as id need a pre pats ECU which will be close to £50, id need another Ho inlet for it, another 2.0TB, id want to service it, new headgasket, bolts, cambelt kit etc will be almost £300 in the end, so sod it, my 18 is already all the above and has 130bhp ish so its going in, the 1.6 engine will then go in the mk4, which is going to be scaled down in most ways, and possibly given to the missus for a daily runner :Q

anyway

ha cheers mate i deffo agree, but still id prefere 40mm, as it would eliminate any arch gap, id probs still have soem on the rear though as they always tend to sit high on the back

i dont tend to throw it intot he corners enough to find out mate, im guessing it has, ive noticed its a bit more responsive and doesnt move around so much int he front, yet again i still could have it lower, and the rear end needs its polybush set too so im guessing to experiance the full effect you should get the whole kit

they were just shy of £30 posted mate, £21.78 ont theyre own i think before P&P
