It's not that difficult actually, coming from someone who read the Haynes manual and threw it away because it was useless.
Go to a scrappy, look for a car with the keys in, essential! Next, take the door cards off, keep the door pods and the window switches.
For both doors: With the window up, take the two screws out that hold the glass to the rail. Keep the screws, always handy. Undo the screws at the back end of the door around the lock, which will become loose. Take a screw out at the bottom back of the door. Undo the screws on the window motor. Drill out the window rail rivets. Unclip the wires you see, then start pulling everything out, it's a fight sometimes, but thinking about it makes it very easy. Remove the door locks, take the rods but you don't need the door handles. Refitting is the reverse.
For the looms:
Open the door wide as you can, then twist the end of the loom rubber protector and it'll come off. The other end is the clip style, so screwdriver it carefully out. Trace it all through under the dash and then remove. The boot popper is the annoying one, it'll either run down the side of the car on the floor or through the roof lining.
Anything else you see connected, trace the wiring and remove, take it.
The security for the central locking:
Remove the dash screws along the top and on the sides inside the door. Remove everything off the central console, every screw you can see. Pull the dash off at the passenger end. Really REALLY REALLY secreted away above the fuel cut-off hole is the pats module. Use a lot of force and energy to get it out. Swap this into your car for the old one. Take off the upper and lower shroud of the steering column, and take off the black ring around the ignition barrel, you want this.
Boot popper motor:
Take the plastic panel off the bootlid, undo all screws/bolts in the lock area, screwdriver the metal plate out that protects the lock against damage from thieves. Remove the motor and pull, take the actual lock as well.
Put everything back together on your car.
