Ok folks so which is better the ST150 brakes setup or the Mk 2 V6 Mondeo brake setup. I know that the ST150s bolt straight on and the v6's are generally gonna be older/cheaper but when it comes down do it which are the better brakes.

personally i think the simple bolt on factor of the ST150s is appealling but i really want to know which is better... opinions please

tbh mate i think there the same size so the st150 is more likely to be more reliable
but the price tag they have can be daft
iv got the mondeo brakes on my si and there awesome
with some braided hoses and good fluid they would be better
end of the day its upto you mate

how much did you pay for your mondeo brakes? just out of. I was definately thinking that as the mondeos are between 10-15 years old they 2.5 year old st150s must be less likely to go wrong.

if you can save up go for the st150 brakes but if you cant go for the mondeo V6's

Get on a ST owners forum because there are loads of brake setups for sale for a fraction of the price ebayers and scrapyards want.
Because the ST owners have just upgraded to the 300mm setup so want rid of their standard setups.

I think the ST setup is the best because it's just a case of literally taking your old stuff off and putting the new stuff on.. lol

the brakes were on it wen i got it but i bought some last year for 50 notes which aint bad but like stainless said the st forum thing is a good idea andthey bolt straight on so no faffin

is that st or v6 for £50, i'm just about to buy a full ST setup for £110 which seemed reasonable: calipers, discs and pads. I've seen people mention sets for between £100-£150

mondeo 278mm discs and calipers for 50 notes mate from a scrappy near me that do alot of ford parts
if i was doin it again myself i would go for the more pricey st option mate
straight bolt on
newer so less chance of bein buggered when you buy em and last longer
but seriously look on the stoc forums as stainless mentioned
you might find a bargain

Yeah I've found these on the STOC forum from a guy whos just got a set of bigger brakes. When i first started looking for brakes i went direct to ford to scare myself and i was right, new calipers, discs and pads from ford are £800 arghhhh. picking them up next week and will have them on asap and get some pics up.

What's the stoc like? I want some but didn't want to be frowned up on for joning solely for that reason if you know what I mean.
