Alright guys, I've been looking for a brake upgrade for my si, most recommend st150 brakes but with a price tag in the sky it may be a while before i can afford them. I have seen quite a few people looking at the mondeo brakes as well. however i have seen on a post on fiestaturbo that grenada cosworth calipers are the same size as the sierra cossy calipers. I have found some of these at a v low price but want to double check that they will fit (undoubtedly with spacers) before I buy them.

I have just got some 15s so will they fit with them as well as i've read the bigger brakes may be too big under anything smaller than 16s?

iirc they are the same as the mondeo v6 setup

Sorry to be a total dumbass but does that mean that yeah they will fit properly, and if so will they fit under 15s. I read in another post that mondeos are 300mm which only fit under 16s but got the impression granadas were 280mm, again i have probably misread/misinterprited what i was reading (like a young Karl Pilkington no matter how accurate the information that i have read is, it becomes nonesense in my head) I am totally confused

300mm fit under 16s only, think anything smaller should be ok for 15"s the V6 setup fit a fiesta so that set up will. But with most of the brakes you have to do a litle
modifying to fit.

Ok just for confirmation, the mondeo v6 and granada cossie are the same 300mm brakes which wont fit under 15s.

still with brakes then guys what is the best set up to put under a set of 15s? i'm speaking to my scrappy man tonight and need to know what to be asking for. st150s are not gonna be available from a scrappy but will ask anyway. Is there anything that is available to upgrade the Si's brakes that will be accessible with out the st150s mammoth price tag???

no the cossies and mondeo v6 brakes are 280 mm
the 300mm's are from a mk3 mondeo/jag x type and focus st170
the 280mm's fit under 15'' wheels
the 300mm's can fit under 15'' wheels but will need modifying to fit ie grinding the caliper/carrier also depends on what alloys they are

excellent news, thanks for the help. i've found some granada brakes for £45 including postage. they look a little under the weather but i'm sure i can get them refurbed. is this an alright price or is this over the odds for what they are?

if you look one ebay you can get the mondeo v6 ones with disks and pads for around £50 +
there a set on there atm for £100 buy it now
posted shouldnt cost more than £10 if using a company like interparcel.com

Just had a look on ebay for the mondeo v6 brakes but cant find any with the calipers, maybe i'm using the wrong search phrase. could you post a link please big g1985. but i have found a set of sierra cosworth calipers with pads for £100, they'd work just the same

Ok so here is the big question. Do I buy the v6 brakes, which look good and come with pads and discs or try and get hold of the st150s from the STOC forum. I have now asked on there but still waiting for a reply if anyone is looking to upgrade. I guess the big issue here is how difficult is it to fit the v6 brakes to the fiesta and which have the best stopping power.
