I want to get rid of all the millions of swirl marks on my car bit i dont know where to start, what do i use and how do i apply it. Also is it hard to do? Cheers

much better and quicker if you use a machine mate, you'll be there forever by hand as even doing it properly with a machine can take up a whole day!!!!

what machine? is it a secail one just for that?

Machine polisher. For cars. Get all the swirls out. (I think by slightly sanding them off the paintwork by 0.01mm or something lol but there about £100 and that's how you see the shine

they look like grinders lol, where is the best place to get them? do you use T-cut wwith them to work the paint

there the ones i can remember
dont bother with the £20 specials in halfords as they are crap
have a look on a few detailing sites as theres hundereds of combinations of machines polishes and pads

How much will a decent machine cost approximately

second hand depending what one id say around £60 +
the porter cable ones need a 110v transformer as they are from the states but they aint hard to get hold of

mines a pc with a transformer, think i paid just over £100 brand new and about £20 for the transformer..as mouse suggested G3 is what i used to use in the body shop and its what i use now..

Ooo, does that look like a good one, it has alot of stuff with it.

if you are a beginner with a machine polisher you dont want to get a circular polisher as you could end damaging your paint if you are not careful.
your best bet is to get a Porter Cable 7424 random orbital (i have one of these) or the Meguiars G220 which as the name sugest they make a oval movement when using them so you cant end up going too mad on the same part of the paint work.
