can it be done ?
if i take out my 1.3 out and ecu and the other stuf how hard will it be to put a 1.4 out a si in if i have the ecu and what not ?
2nd has it been done ?

if some one can help it will most thanked

Hi there,

I think it'll be a ball ache of a job as the 1.4 is a CVH and the 1.3 is an HCS engine. Different mounts etc.etc.

It's definitely possible, as putting any engine in a fiesta is technically possible (well, maybe not any engine but you know what I mean!)

As for someone doing it, no idea.

You would need engine, mounts, ECU, wiring loom, haynes manual, and heaps of time and probably be handy with a welder.
Might be better to look at a bigger engine if going to the hassle of putting the 1.4 in TBH!

the only i would like a bigger engine but i got to think about the insurance as i have not passed yet

Just keep the 1.3 as the "modification" will rise your insurance. Then get or swap for a 1.6 engine which would be more worth it, then 2.0 it 2 years later when you can. Go from one speed to another

i'd stick the biggest engine i could in like a 1.6/8 or 2.0 as it would be the same amount of effort when you think about it.

i think its a good idea if you do it because then in a couple of years the 1.6 2i engine will sit on the same mounts and use the same loom

But it is alot of effort for a small power gain, as anything up to 75bhp is sluggish and crap and slowww anyway.
You never know what'll happen you might just buy another car, the effort for the power dosen't seem worth it at all in my eyes, especially with costs etc.

it can be done but wont it be best to put a 1.6 turbo init if your doing a 1.4. its all pretty much the same just from the turbo being a extra goodie have a look on fiesta guides, im sure there is something on there about it.
