I was thinking of a 2.0 rwd fiesta for the next project.

ive got an 1800 cvh rwd sierra atm so i was gona use the running gear off that,
obv theres gona be alot of fabrication needed to be done the biggest problem i can see is the rear axle

Has anyone seen or done or have any thoughts on what to do about it.. this is a spur of the moment idea as iv just seen a mk3 fiesta van sat up.

cheers

There is a vid on the net of someone who has done a "cosworth fiesta" so RWD, cossy engine and that wide arch and wing kit and bumpers
So it has been done before so it's not impossible :P

there is a Mk2 fiesta RWD rolling shell on ebay at the moment i think, as for rear axle the normal/easiest way is to fit a live axle from a Mk2 escort etc rather than sierra independant setup which would need new rear wishbones etc and more cutting/modifying the rear end.
Finally are you thinking of it being road registed? as if so with shell modifications will technically require re-registering and IVA inspection

yeh my mate was saying running gear off a mk2 escort would be ideal, i was planning to use the sierra tunnel and gearbox but i knew the independent suspension and that would be a mental amount of work... also was looking at an escort van earlier was thinking that an escort would take the sierra running gear better than a fez

I was looking into this for some fun.
Its some major work, and obviously if you don't get things right, its not gonna drive very well at all.

You may as well fit 4x4 running gear as well if your gonna rip a tunnel into it for the rear.

And slap in either a 24v Cossie, or the Cossie turbo lump
