right then as alex hasnt been on here for a while i thought i'd update this for him and give you guys an insight as to why he might be breaking the car...

a while back alex helped me do a little bit of work to my saph with this he found a new love for his!

so i went down to his place on weekend and we fitted his straight cut box in the rain, all went well, we got it drivable again,we 1st found that we couldnt select any gears even with the clutch fully depressed! we later found out that the clutch had seized itself to the flywheel!!

after a few trips up the road, starting the car in 1st and building up speed and a few hard stamps on the brake pedal and it free'd itself off, all be it the biting point was way way to high now

so we decided to take it for a quick spin up the road again and low and behold the f*cking thing pops out of second gear when any load is put on it

so as you can imagine this hasnt put him in the best moods and after spending ALOT of money on a box that was sold to him in good working order and recently serviced he's thinking of throwing the towel in!

to be fair, that would piss me right off to so he has a point

its not even my car and its fucked me off, a real kick in the nuts, we both slaved fitting that bitch of a box for 4hrs in the rain, we were both soaked

alive again

he is still unsure what he wants to do though

but you would not believe the amount of work we put into getting it ready for a mega tight dead line for the mot!

it was in bits on the thursday of the second bank holiday and the mot was at 3pm on the sat... it had no, fly wheel, clutch, gearbox, prop, exhaust, turbo, exhaust manifold needed to come off be heli coiled and re fitted, inlet was off, no dash, wiring needed to be sorted too, hydraulic clutch needed to be fitted and bled

but we did it with 3hrs to spare before the MOT!! it sounded fecking awesome with the bara box on, but it still had major clutch slip when on boost, so on weekend before fitp we set about removing the bara box and fitting a standard box, removing the hydraulic system, swapping release bearings, re routing the clutch cable

so tuesday eve we had the standard box on within 1hr 15 mins, bara box was off in 2hrs 30mins , we finished everything we needed to do by sat at 12pm! cutting it fine

the clutch slip is still there tho , so we are stumped again

that is an epic workload - well done!

we have it down to a fine art now, all done with a couple of jacks, axle stands,drive on ramps and some swearing

from driving it into the drive and putting it on to the axle stands and ramps it took 2nrs 30mins to remove the box, which when we first did it it took us like 4hrs and like 6hrs to get the fucker back on

we have been lucky as the weather has been loooovely to work on cars, we took his box off in dec in the rain/snowy shit
