alex and I have been speaking about it for the few days,regarding engne specs power,turbos and all that stuff and I'm actually pretty excited to start ripping her to buts a)to find out the cause of my failure and b)to make a start on my new engine

Jas,we have indeed heard back from msd and to say it's interesting is an understatement,I won't go into to many details on here,but all I will say is I think we're slowly getting somewhere

An yea your right im 100% not breaking her!

yeah i thought it was awesome, i thought it was running spot on as my fueling was showing to be all ok even at silly speeds :red:

then this happens, when i know where i stand with stuff i'll add more details but at the mo i cant say to much

i'll be doing some more work on her tomorrow, all the boost and watr pipes are off now so its onto the turbo and start removing a few other little bits and the head is ready to come off

not nessecarialy afr that will cause detonation. ignition timing, temperature of incoming air, and probably one or two other factos my tired head cant think of. not all detonation is audible without det cans and a probe. those that are are pretty serious. i know youll get it sorted. :thumbsup:

I no its not fuel jam, his acts were always below 40c even in traffic ( ecu has fuel qnd boost compensation for high acts tho). After a data logging session with another mate with a similar chip from the same company, I found it to have far too much ignition advance, and its this that killed his engine and I suspect terrys too, but only taking the head off is going to confirm this.

This is why I've taken mine iff the road, as I have one of tbese chips too and I get the feeling mine is detting too

i did have an intelligent reply written out..then i hit a button and lost it :iagree:

. i wasnt preaching...just adding some depth to the subject of detonation for anyone else reading it. although out of curiosity how much was it out by a small amount or an angle only reached by terrys bentness :halo:

..not that its of importance by the sounds of it theres a few YB shaped doorstops kicking about now courtesy of the aforementioned tuner
