Mine fired up then died today mate. First run in 8 months. I saw myself going to fitp in the 1.1.

She was turning over but not starting, so I thought it may be fuel starvation. Turned the ignition on an off a few times to build up fuel pressure by priming the pump and then she finally fired into life!

Was abit ropey at first but is now lovely and smooth after taking her for a run.

Yours will probs just free up after some more driving mate, and maybe your comparing her to the leon too much in terms of the way the engine pulls

iam pissed that iam not going to make FITP. Whats the point in having a show car if the fucking thing cant make it to the show. It done about 3000 miles last year and about 20 this year so far. Seriously thinking about getting rid. I could just as easy throw money at the leon and get something back from it.

i's say take a step back and chill out before you make any harsh decisions, i was in the same boat as you when my cambelt went, i just wanted to cry, i missed near on the whole show season

you thought about taking it to a garage to get it looked into, other wise you could be chucking money at it for ages trying to find out whats wrong

When I put marks old 2.0ltr in the pickup it ran sluggish as hell and that engine was left for 6 months doing nothing, so maybe it just needs a service and a good run matey

And TBH, if your used to a TDI, the 2.0ltr isnt going to feel that fast

Dont lose faith mate, she's WAY too nice to sell on for the want of abit more time, effort and money. Things go wrong sometimes but they will always come good in the end, and you will definitely regret it in the future if you sell after all the hard work and love you have put into her.

Wont be much of a surprise to say that i'll be keeping the bloody thing. I can deal with stuff going wrong but this was just particularly anoying packing up on me the night before a show i was really looking forward to attending.

Anyway plan is to either get a refurbed LSD box, or get mine out and have it refurbed, along with some adjustable wishbones, polybushes, new anti roll bar links, adjustable coilovers and some cossie rims cause the mondeo ones just look too thin and i want something with some meat on it

So my solution is throw more money at it, thanks for reminding me chris.....i can always earn money again

yes will be at ford fair. I do have this anoying habbit of leaving stuff to the last minute, but ill get started on this in June. Hope to have a new box, polybushes and front si cossie splitter for ford fair. Coilovers and cossie rims might have to wait until next year as ive got other financial projects and commitments going on.
