right then i know some of you will think i'm out of my tree and smoking some wired shit, but i kid you not

a mate of mine is wanting to get rid of his shell and after talking to him last night he said to me its a 2dr/3dr(2 doors and a boot,LOL)sierra saph shell

i have seen it with my own eyes and i helped him work on it a few years back, there is no visible evidence of any welding/cut and shutting etc, so either its a genuine shell or someone was fooking good and used magic invisible weld!

the shell has been fully restored, the underside is mint its been sprayed inperial blue as has the engine bay,but the body does require flatting down and spraying as its still in primer, he'll supply the paint to finish it

i dont have access to photobucket at the mo so cant load a pic up, soon as i get home i'll edit this and show you, i'm hoping to get more pic's on friday

he's not sure how much to ask so is after sensible offers, depending on what offers he gets depends on if he'll let the shell go with, so if a good enough offer is made the shell will be rolling on avo coilovers which have only covered about 1000 miles

currently bolted in the engine bay is a 2.9 twin turbo V6 engine, he'd ideally like to sell the shell and engine as a job lot, which would be in the region of 3k, that includes, 2 brand new re-con'd never used T2 turbo's, engine, management, exhaust,xr4x4 transmission(which i'm told has an uprated front diff, but unsure what diff), if someone wanted the engine seperately he'd want £1500 for all the above minus the shell

there are other bits for sale which i'm getting a list for with prices

iirc he was running 340+ bhp with 360+ ft/lb, but that from what i can remember, if been a long time!

keep the fez as a daily?

so the 2.9tt would be better then a cossy lump??

yeah most likely, just sorting out some money etc first and then i will decide what i do with the fez, either sell the 2.0L engine and run it as a 1.6 or put the 2L in and use it or put it in and sell it and get a cheap cheap cheap car lol

not sure if its better , but from the stories i heard it was scary quick!, nice low lag engine with nice hit of torque, plus its already bolted in there saves you having to splash out on a cossie engine! ropey engines go for £1200-£1500 , so imo id stick with the 2.9TT

yeah, ill prob stick with the 2.9tt then, although if i do get it ill do it to a high standard, i dont want to spend thousands of pounds when i dont need to

yeah exactly, imo the only thing id change on the car would be to have the engine run on a different management system to what its on at the mo, thats it, the rest of the engine is pretty mint, i watched bill strip the head down, do the vavles, repaint the block

turbo's are brand new, he had them re-conn'd and they've not been near the engine, brand new RS500 style FMIC, Rad, what ever that car needed bill got it

such a unique car/shell

ps. i do indeed know what you've got for the fez

yeah ive seen most of the bits he bought things like the brakes calipers are bigger then me but weigh as much as a feather!

hopefully all works out and ill get it! should know later ontoday

more info on it.... Ford made 3x 2 door saphire shells as prototypes and this is one of them. the engine is one of the few engines turbo techniqes made for the sierra minkers.

probobly put the cosworth bumpers on it, have you seen the bonnet he started makeing? needs a little finishing off but i really like it, so probobly use that
