So got another problem...

I have no reverse light. Don't know if its ever actually worked since buying it.
Its not the bulb or the plastic piece as I swapped them over off a mates fiesta and I know his works.

Any ideas as to why the light isn't coming on?
When I brought it the previous owner had recently changed the gearbox mount, could he have knocked a wire out or something?

It does sound like a lose connection/wire. Not sure where the sensor is.

I am assuming its on the same circuit as the other lights, but if not has the fuse gone?

All fuses are alright. First thing I checked before the other bits. From what I understand the brake lights share the same fuse as the reverse and they work fine.

Anyway to know if its the reverse switch?
Is that the one that screws into the side of the gearbox?
Also is the switch accessible by jacking the car up and getting under it, not touched a gearbox before :)

Knew it screwed in somewhere :)
Will pester someone for a jack and have a look next weekend when I have the time. If its that then I'll just order a new one when I get my new wishbones for it
Might get lucky for once and it'll be a lose connection :squint:

the reverse lights run off the heater fuse believe it or not! the one with the fan and a 2 on it. my white one popped a fuse and in desperation i pulled that one...fan didnt work..nor did the reverse lights  ...take the plug off the switch and short it using a split pin..paper clip..piece of pikey wire lol. that will check the wiring etc..if the light comes on its the switch for sure. if you have a std airbox its easier from a dismantling point of view to jack the car up...or if your feeling keen...one 8mm bolt. some clips and the airbox will be on the floor  and youll be able to see it! its the only sensor/switch on a BC box so its not hard to miss :)

Hope that helps in some way :)

Jam.

ah definitely not the fuse then. That got changed when I was messing with the fan and trying to get it to work.

Yep that helps, once I'd read it a few times anyway
