Am I right in saying that an rs1800i has

2.0 throttle body and maf (which I've got fitted)

2.0 ecu (I'm using a re-mapped 2.0ecu)

And 2.0 cams

Is this correct ??

I've got a set of 2.0 285 piper cams and I want to put them into my xr2i

But will they fit ??????

BP285H's......the ones with this note attached. :Not recommended for std injection, gives 200bhp in 2.0 running throttle bodies and ported head:

you wont get the most out of them until you have headwork and ITB or at a push DCOE type carbs. they will fit..but youll be lucky to get half of the gains advertised with the std injection system. it will probably run rough as a dogs arse aswell. if you want some better cams without going to the expense of ITB injection..the 270s would be a better choice

have you currently got a RS1800 16v zetec in your XR2i, the RS1800 throttle body is differrent to the 2litre one, as for cams if you are running the 1800 zetec believe the 285 piper cams will fit but dont think thay are ment to run with the standard ECU so may need another re-map. also the head will need some mods around the hydraulic tappets to allow the higher lift cams to rotate just need a bit filed out, i had to do this when fitted my Newman cams. finally to get the most out of these cams the head will need to be ported or that will restrict the flow and ideally individual throttle bodies.

At the minute Ive got a 1.8 Zetec engine in my xr2I (poo)

I've fitted a 2.0 throttle body and maf
and a re-mapped 2.0 ecu

If I fitted just stadard ford 2.0 cams then would that give me 130ish bhp like the rs1800i ??

if the 1800 you have is a lower power one, fitting either the RS1800 cams or 136 BHP 2litre ones then should end up with 130 bhp spec, not all 2litres zetecs are 136 ones though. can pick a pair up for about £30,

kit it should produce alot more than 136 right ???

Well if I get it the same as an rs1800i then I'll look into gettig bigger cams after that

running as a matched set eg ECU, injectors MAF throttle bodies is best, what ECU/injectors are you running at mo? i will check cams if ok £25+ postage

the car was totally standard when i bought it so guessing there gonna be standard to

what ive done is put a 2.0 throttle body and maf sensor on and a re-mapped 2.0 ecu
