Right then, its finally time to reveal the events of the weekend!
Was searching the net a couple of weeks back and saw a FRST for sale in scotland which had basically had done to it what I have done to mine but with more parts being replaced and in some cases (such as the suspension and fuel pump) better parts fitted than I was using. The car has been dry stored for a total of 12 years and the current owner had owned it for four years of which two years it had been totally rebuilt by him and two years it had been tucked up in a garage. Since the rebuild the car has'nt done 1 mile yet so all the parts are still new and it has also had a full ford respray as one of the guys mates worked at ford.
The car was 99% complete but didnt have an mot as a few little things still needed doing such as adjusting the handbrake due to new handbrake cable and brake shoes and cylinders and getting the horn to work etc.
The engine and gearbox have both had a full rebuild too with a spec list as follows:
Engine.
Cylinder head cleaned and inspected for warping etc
All new gaskets throughout
new cylinder head bolts
new standard camshaft kit inc followers
new engine bearings and thrust washers
arp con rod bolts
accralite forged pistons and rings
new water pump
new oil pump
original flywheel inspected ok to use
new flywheel bolts
block honed and refaced and chemically cleaned then painted high temp paint
new high pressure fuel pump (if you wanted to up the boost it can cope with the added fueling required)
new magnecor 8.5mm race ignition leads
Samco turbo hoses
bailey dump valve
scorpion exhaust system
k&n induction kit
Gearbox.
Recon gearbox
new standard clutch
motul racing fully synthetic gearbox oil
new driveshafts
Suspension.
new koni adjustable suspension kit
new suspension arms with powerflex bushes fitted
powerflex anti roll bar bushes front and rear, and rear beam mountings
new top mount bushes and bearings
new wheel bearings front and rear
new recon steering rack
new tie rod ends
Brakes.
new standard calipers
new brake hoses
new discs
new pads
new drums
new shoes
new wheel cylinders
new handbrake cables
The car has done a genuine 66000 miles from new with full ford service history and MOT's to prove and is still on the original sills,filler cap and arches due to there being literally no rust anywhere!
Its in much better condition than mine was when I started and the interior is like its just rolled out of the showroom with no wear whatsoever!!
Basically it is a much better car than mine was before I started and it was a REALLY good price so I couldnt resist!

So anyway I went up to view it and check it all out and it was better than I imagined in the flesh so I left a deposit and went back this weekend with a car trailer and drove it all the way back home!
I'm sooooo happy now, its absolutely amazing!!
The plan is to finish off the other car and sell it on for a good price and keep this car as my new pride and joy
