well hi there
i joined ages ago when i used to have a 1.6 Si, and dannyboy suggested i re-kindle an old fire
Sadly the Si was crahed and wrote off back in november 2008, then this mk4 was bought as a quick replacement
the Si:

i loved the Si, but one night of spirited driving in the damp with two slightly bald rear tyres nearly saw me off a mountain cliff
at the time it was a standard Encore 1.3 with none of the extras or options whatso ever, everything on it was the base spec, i was supprised it had a rear wiper if im honest lol
was looking something like this, sneak peak at my Dads mk1 capri

many of the Si's parts still live today int he mk4, liek the seats, uptill late the brakes including one rear drum lol
fast forwarding to more recently to save on an essay and alot of pictures the car now has a new engine, a 1800 Zetec S2 with 73,000miles from an escort Lx, so a normal 105ps model, which is lukcy as the car itself just passed 74,000 miles
she now has mondeo V6 front brakes, lowered 60mm on standard shocks for the time being, i done a power steering conversion the same time as the engine, ive fitted with alot of modifcation ill add, a RS1800 steering wheel, ive got a home made temp exhaust consisting of the original 1.8 escort down pipe cut off just shy of the cat, joined to a 1.3 flexy which luckily has a very similar bore to the rest of the exhaust, then thats clamped to a 1.6 Si mid section and a custom powerflex 2.0 si back box that ive had fitted for a good few months (just after last years Fitp actually)
the engine is fully wired in running on two Ecu's the orginal 1.3 one for the auxilery stuff including the PATS, and then a 1.8 mondeo BLOB ECU for the engine, wires at the grey multi plug on the Si loom are custom wired into the cars fuse box and clocks etc, the temp and rev counter have been wired to the mk4 Si white clocks i bought a while back last year
the engine is running and revving fine, but i had a clutch problem, where the orginal 1.8 clutch was too big for the mk4's (1.3) slave cylinder as its hydrualic, they were rubbing together (the slave cylinder housing on the clutch pressure plate, so ive just taken delivery of a mk4 1.8 diesel item, im gonna be fitting this week, and it will hopefully drive fine, i will probs have to space the gearbox slightly using some HCS gearbox/engine spacers i got few weeks ago
unfortunately atm its running on a 1.6 inlet with a 2.0 throttle body for gods know why the previous owner thought it would do much difference lol, but im planning on upping the engine to the 130ps spec once ive sourced the RS/2.0 parts including the HO inlet
anyway enough blabber more pictures, you can find out some of the other mods ive done since i bought her in november 08 in the pictures to save anymore text
