bought my second si a week ago and have noticed a few things...apart from an oil leak which looks like sump gasket at the min, i have noticed its alot worse than my last one on fuel.i can do about 30miles to £10.so its a tenner a day just to get to work :(
so if any one knows or has a standard air box ect to see if the air filter is the problem give me a shout!

secondly i can drive to work which is 15miles and temp gauge will just touch on the white square...then i stop and it shoots straiht up to at least half way...is this normal???
i can remember if my old one used to do it :(

got a noise from front passenger side as well but cant really explin it on here so ill get these two bits sorted first.lol.

if it is actuall running cold as result of dodgy thermostat and not faulty gauge, that will richen the mixture and do less mpg. so could be worth replacing

i get 40 miles to £10 in my cossie  :lolz:

your coolant temp sensor on the thermostat could be knackered causing your car to over fuel or it might be your lambda sensor and the coolant temp sensor that does the signal for your dash might not be working correctly or your gauage might be broke too

if it was me before spending any money try and get it on a diagnostic machine to see what fault codes it thrwos up and then go from there

can you try explain what the noise on the passenger side sounds like?

sounds like you have a bush on its way out and the rumbling could be a wheel bearing
