I thought the VTS and ST are very similar performance wise. You can feel the torque kick in the ST, but you can feel the cam change in the VTS. I think they're both down to what you prefer exterior and interior wise.

I prefer the ST interior but the VTS exterior.

Question is, what did you think to the gti-6

Well Dave you are another one with eyes for ford only. But it did have you thinking about an affair with a french whore didn't it!

I will say having a ride in the ST just confirmed all my thoughts, its is a nice car.

But the reality is there is no real difference in performance yet the ST costs more to buy/insure/feed.

Anyway the C2 made the best noise... mini vtec powwwwarrrrrrr!

It was a great day out and we probably had more fun than we should.

well my st wakes up ay 6000rpm and pulls to 7000rpm and there is power from 3000rpm depends on the ford base map on an st

yeah there were 8 ecu's used from 2004-2008, i can pretty much guarantee mine was like moles when i picked it up, but it went in for a ecu reset and different base map and its not how it is, weird

Citroen got the VTS map perfect first time so there is only one version...

Surely for it to wake up at 6k its not giving its all up to that point? As a few witnessed with the VTS it hit 4k and then went like a train all the way to 7k.

With Ry it would be interesting to see how different it is on the RR if that's the case.

The VTS definitely picks up at 4k then pulls right through to the top end. You really feel it too

percy, whats the difference between the vts and vtr? im guessing yours has more power stock.
just curious you see as my girlfriends mar just got a vtr for her courtersy car (59) and its rather tidy.

VTS 125bhp
VTR 110bhp

Main difference is the inlet, cams and ECU.

That is assuming its a 1.6 as the have trashed the VTR names as there is now a 1.1 and 1.4 VTR too. (being a courtesy car is more likely the later), But the VTR's have the sporty looks on all engines and being a 59 plate it will be a Mk3 so will have the updated front end.

Don't know anything on the lower models but the 110bhp engine is good, my other halfs C3 has the same engine, not as raw as the VTS but a good drive.
