right i just taxed and insured my car its depressing 1.1 5 speed rattler £68 tax and £80 a month insurance f-ing rip off.

citroen c1, 7k book price, for a used one 7k, 2k off for scrappage so 5 then probably bump down to 4.5k £35 a year tax, insurance is considerably cheaper and well there nippy little cars at 68bhp which is much quicker than my 50bhp rattler im only young dont want a fast car just want something cheap and cheerful
i know there quite ugly but ill put my own little stamp on it and make it look smart

plus i can probably make £300 on selling the mods

Well as you have figured it is one of the cheapest to insure cars you can buy, and you will have the advantages of a new'ish car.

Of course it its to get you no claims down etc it should still be worth something in a few years.

As you will know it has great mpg and a low tax band to.

Of course look at the Aygo and 107 to and see which you can get the cheapest.

But if you get a C1 I will call you mini me!

It is a truly sensible choice.

The twingos are an insurance group higher and slower, but they are bigger.

all depends if your getting finance or not because because is it worth getting into debt on a car that will lose value so much? i have drove them and they are nice to drive but if i was trying to save money regardless of what the car was i'd by a 1.0litre metro or sequento. if you can afford it though then nothing can beat a new car feel.

It runs on diesel so it can achieve 80mpg on the motorway, 60 nice driving locally and 45 ragging it round and having fun

And on top of all this its a Ford Though in seriousness the diesels hold their value better

i would but im after cheap insurance and the c1 being group one you cant get better lol im going down swansea sunday for a test drive they've got a black one there with 22k for £6,000 i just want something new and cheap as im paying through the nose on a slow as feck car

oh yeah i will be getting it on finance but should be looking at say £4,000 max over 3 years i know id be stuck with it for 3 years but i would be quite happy doing that as ill be 21 when its paid off therefore should be able to afford a bigger engined old skool FORD that ive always dreamed of lol but me and my old man done my sums to see if i could afford it without going short every month and if i stick to my hours stop offering to go home early and booking time off i should be also going into college i get a £700 grant every term so i would most probably just use that to pay it off, just priced up insurance and its just so much cheaper! my fiesta paid yearly is £880 montly its £80.80 which is around £950 mark i think, c1 £50 a month!! not sure what it works out as yearly though

Well you buy a newer car you will lose money when you come to sell, but you don't have to worry if it will start everyday, MOT's shouldn't be a problem for a while.

i wouldnt mod it mate, if your trying to keep the insurance down then just leave it as it is then when you come to sell it, it will be easier to shift being standard. Stops the impression of it being ragged. Plus iv seen the 107 sport and they look silly. thats my opinion though so you do whatever you think is right.

Don't think there is any flatter lights, due to the size of them they need to stick out to fit the gubbins.

Again I wouldn't bother modding it, a decent set of alloys at most.
