right ive been offered first refusal on a 70k mk2 1.1 its mint its jasons best mates and jason also owned it shes mint for a 20 odd year old car but i dont know weather to get it or not think he wasnted £650 with spare engine and a load of spares and a spare set of wheels

get it, they will only go up in value.
i used to have a mk2 957cc was a nippy little car so the 1.1 will be fast for the engine size.
plus there proper retro cool.

Is it just be who looks at the practical side.

Its not an exact science but I wouldn't expect it to be the most reliable car, yes it may come with loads of spares, but most cars don't come with all those spares as they don't need them.

By all means with you don't the maintence and messing about then its great, but it is worth considering.

its an old ohv engine there noisey but very reliable, there isnt much that can go wrong with them, my old 957cc had 125tho on the clock when i got it and never gave me any trouble as long as the oil is changed regualy its more reliable than alot of newer cars out there.
and it may have alot of spairs as the owner might be conciouse of the fact there getting rare now so its best to get spairs and store them if you have the room.

i do the same thing with my cars.
you could be right tho and the spairs might be because its been unreliable.

well ive weighed that up and the fact i know the owner and the previous owner very well and that its been looked after etc and the ovh/hcs engines are pretty much bullet proof if taken care of
